Okay, looking far and near for any information I could find regarding MPG or fuel economy on the new 2015 Jeep Renegade, I stumbled upon the following German video that highlighted a diesel powered Trailhawk and holy cow, if these numbers are right, I really want one!! Check it out.

So, if you're not getting it, these guys are saying that their diesel motor yielded 4.6 to 6.0l / 100 km. Translated into MPG, that's a whopping 39.2 to 51.1 MPG!!!

Here's the video it came from.

It's crazy, I've been looking everywhere for solid MPG numbers and couldn't even find any on the official Italian Jeep website. I did find the following scanned page from a magazine of unknown origin and, while it is just speculative, it does at least show a 20-23 MPG City and a 30-32 MPG Highway number. Of course, on a side note, I was pleased to see this article pointed to a starting point of $17,000, just as I have been saying all along. With any luck, the numbers in it are right.

LOL!! And here I was thinking 32 was awesome :D Sucks that the diesel won't be available for us here in the US. Price point is right where it NEEDS to be to be a hot seller here.

    LOL!!

Is that what it was? My wife and I were wondering about that. For a time, I used to live in the Italian side of Switzerland but whenever I did come across German speakers there, I did find it harder to understand anything at all.

I so wish we could get the 2.0L MultiJet diesel here in the U.S. and I still wish we could get some numbers on the 2.4L Tigershark motor.

Autoweek just published an article and in it, states the fuel economy on the Renegade is as follows:

34 highway is not bad at all!

Okay, so, I'm not sure if they tested out the same Renegade or maybe one with a different motor/transmission but, here's what Automobile came up with in terms of MPG.

    automobile.jpg

As you can see, they got about 3 MPG less but, it's still above 30 on the highway.
