I just hit 1000 miles on my Trailhawk. Yes, I do live in Los Angeles and my commute is 23.5 miles each way. 3.1 miles (6.2 total) of that commute is on surface streets (with red lights at the end of every block) the rest is on the 5 freeway. Factoring in braking etc. due to congestion, I am averaging about 60 MPH when on the freeway.

My current average MPG is 20.2. This seems low and after having read the posts in this thread, I'm concerned. Any advice BEFORE I head to the dealer?

    Thanks in advance.

After some testing I've found that with the AC on I get about 16.5 MPG average (I live in AZ so it's almost always on). If I reset my meter and turned off the AC after a week I was averaging in the low 20's on my lifted TH with mud tires. The AC really takes its toll on the Renegades apparently.

Do you drive with the AC on? I do all the time and I'm getting close to this. With the AC off Im pushing low 20's. Primarily no freeway, stop and go University traffic.

My average is 17.8 but I play a lot off road and accelerate quick. Highway on straight cruise control, going 68mph I get 28-30. Off road in mud lock it gets about 15-17

It's the city stuff that kills it lol

@EnderAZ and @JustinBalboa - I typically do not drive with the AC on unless it is 100 or above. This is more the case with 'Tuck' as she has MySky and the novelty of the whole thing has not worn off ;)

As of last night, I was at 20.8 MPG. I am now at 1170 miles. I think 21 - 21.5 is the best Im going to see in L.A. We have a big camping trip up north coming in the first week of October. That should provide an opportunity to see what her average max MPG is and if that is not at or above 25 - I think I will raise a flag.

In '91 I had a Honda CRX HF. It got 51 miles highway/42 city! (just sharing).

    Best to you all!

Do you measure mpg by renny computer or manually??
Reason I ask this is because my computer says my combined mpg is 24.7 - 24.9. I drive pavement no mods 1/2 highway 1/2 city streets with very little stop and go.

I've been using the computer, but I started off tracking it manually and comparing to the computer and it was always spot on so I trust it now.

Ok then relying on the computer only, my TH has 5000+ miles had first oil change, runs with auto ac and my avg mpg is 24.7, wo ac w lite foot it only changes to 24.9 at highest. I have no mods runs stock tires. I do have a tendency to rocket from dead start once in awhile, she's fun from the get go. If you're having teens for mpg I'd be concerned doesn't sound right. Low 20s very possible.

I have a 2015 180hp diesel Trailhawk and it sits on an average of about 7.1 litres per 100km in mixed use (urban daily commutes and weekend highway use).
For Brit gallons; that's just under 40mpg.
For short changed Yank gallons; that's only 32.6mpg

That said; it does read as low as 5.5l/100km cruising o the highway at a constant speed of about 100kph

I have the 1.4T, with FWD and the manual transmission and I average about 28 mpg. Most of my driving is highway, about 45 miles each way from home to the airport and back doing 70-80mph. If I'm not traveling and doing more around town driving and really getting on the gas from lights, I'll see low to mid 20's but it always averages back. When I first bought it and drove it home from Dallas to New Orleans, I averaged 29.9 mpg for the 538 miles. That was with the mysky completely open for a good portion and AC on the entire way.

Are you guys with the 1.4T using 93 or 87? I only put 93 in my Renegade as recommended for the best performance.

I can only get 91 (+ ethanol) here, that what I use. I did do a few tank fulls with 87. no noticeable difference, went back to 91.
