Did they ever recall tranny?

The problem I am having with my Renegade is. When entering the highway and I push on the gas to go faster. NOTHING HAPPENS! Like it get stuck in 3rd or 4th gear. This is my first automatic in 12 years. Can hear the rpm's like they are stuck.

 

Earlier today my Renegade was going up a steep grade. It felt like it was enduring a heavy load at an rpm that seemed too low for that condition...



...so I put the clutch in and shifted gears

 

The same problems everyone is having. And i bought mine in may. They say they have no updates

 

Still having major shift issues with mine scheduling another apt with dealership for monday. Visit #4.

I wish i had waited for a 6 speed. I wouldnt have wasted 3 full days of service in my first month of owning a new jeep.
And heading back for a 4th visit with same issue and no hope.

Silly

 

Mine has been at the dealer for a week now! This is 2nd time. Still have not heard what the problem is w/ the tranny. Any update with your jeep?

 

Got a new software update after my four wheel went out and had to take it in. So far all is improves but i havent been on trails

 

They said my transmission acts as normal.

I left my jeep for 3 days. I told they tech to drive it home. Well o get it back , almost an empty tank of gas after i filled it up. The tech drove it 111 miles while they had it. He only got 19.6 mpg in those 111 miles. Meaning he was just reving the shit outta the jeep the whole time.

When coming to a stop its like i have to slam the brakes to get the transmission to go into 1st gear and stop pulling. Then going to take off again, its like the transmission falls on its face, throwing me into my seat and takes offf with a burst of acceleration no matter how lite I touch the pedal.

When i go to pull out from a stop sign to cross traffic my jeep gets half way into the first gear revs then falls on its face in the middle of the intersection and then jerks into gear. This has almost gotten me T bone multiple times.

My sirus xm radio was "updated" because it was saying comtact dealer and it was shutting down completly at rabdom times the. Rebooting itself. Well now it does it atleast 3 timea as often with their "update".

Key geting stuck in ignition.
Mopar told me this function is acting as intended.

My car dash clearly says release brake pedal (after in park) before turning the key to off position then pull key out.

This is exactly when my key gets stuck. Yes 9 times out of 10 i can start my jeep and try again and it will come out. But atleast once a week my key is getting stuck in the ignition to where i have to crank it and put it in gear and back in park a few times to get it to work (funny cause it sure sounds like a 9 speed automatic problem is causeing this as well.)

So update on my jeep is that it will be going back to a dealer for the 5th time.

What makes this situation worse is ... I LOVE my renegade so damn much i hate even admitting there may be a problem.. But there is a safety concern i cannot ignore with other peoples safety at risk because i bought a FCA vehicle with a 9 speed automatic.

Key thing - I read somewhere that there is a 5 second delay. I have been doing this and seems to work.

 

Jeep is heading to the dealer on Dec. 9th.

Joysi, I will try waiting longer before i turn key off after putting the jeep into park. 5 seconds seems like a long delay after parking to be able to turn your key to me. ( sounds stupid but sit in your car and count off 5 seconds after you park your car).

Hard to say

Chrysler 200 with the 9 speed are having a rediculous amount of problems.

If it is im just gonna get another renegade but with a 6 speed !

Finally got a reply they are "thinking" it's the value body. They have contacted TECHLINE and waiting for a response from Chrysler. They have verified the concern.

 

Oh jeez , hopefully you get it back fast and it fixes it. Keep us updated.
