    Jeep Trailhawk or Toyota FJ Cruiser?

    Granted any self-respecting FJ owner will have a set of off-road ramps and a shovel attached to his roof rack in order to get him/herself unstuck…again. However, by default if you buy a Jeep rather than a Toyota you automatically have superior off-roading skills, better vehicle knowledge and are better looking.

    So what say you Toaster people?

    Well I would never drive an fj so I say the trailhawk. Just the name jeep alone means it can go anywhere.

    FJ = Fake Jeep.

    Renegade wins by default for being an actual jeep!

    LOL!! Now that is just too funny but too true.

    In all fairness, the FJ does have a solid rear axle and that might give it a slight advantage but then, it's also a much bigger vehicle.

    I would say the FJ definitely has it, But it's sort of a unfair comparison since the FJ was suppose to compete with the Wrangler. I think we should be comparing the renegade to the Toyota Rav 4, in which the Jeep wins in every category

    Agreed. The FJ should be compared with the Wrangler as they would be in the same class. Funny thing is, the Rav4 has been upsized to the point of being in the "compact" SUV class and the Renegade is in the "sub-compact" SUV class. I don't think Toyota even has anything in the sub-compact size... heck, I don't think anyone other than Jeep has one in a 4WD.

    I've got a subaru xv crosstrek at home and while it lacks a low range it's probably the closest thing to actually compare this new renegade to. 8.7" ground clearance, 4wd, 26mpg

    Subarus are nice but I'm a Jeep fan at heart. This new Renegade will give me what I'm looking for. :)

    As eddie mentioned they arent even in the class size so IMO the FJ automatically has the upper hand. also since no one has an renegade to see what its really capable of outside of the comercials so for what we know it could do more than what they show.

    No doubt about that. Me and my wife are both jeep fans at heart but also wanted something that got great mpg and would still allow some off road travel. Had the renegade been available we probably would have gotten it instead. We'll see what the future holds
