Has anyone had a thump, thud, thunk, or knocking sound or feeling through the floorboard on turns?

My Renegade (just turned 2500 miles) did that to me the other evening, turning either direction produced the percussive knocking, it was more pronounced on a left turn than a right turn; more evident on tight turns (think U-turns or culdesacs) than normal road turns. I was in a parking lot, so I got out and looked under the vehicle to make sure I hadn't picked up a branch or something.

I took it into the dealership the next morning, it was still doing it but to a lesser degree... When they got it in, they couldn't reproduce the problem. They checked for loose suspension bolts and nothing was found, and test drove it for several miles in turns around a parking lot.

I picked it up and test drove it myself, the thunk is gone... I'm pretty sure I hadn't imagined it. Anyone else experience anything similar?

Was it a single thump or a series of thumps that continued rhythmically as you were moving?

@Eric weatherber - nope, 4WD lock wasn't engaged, had that happen for the first time about a week ago - helpful light on the dash.

@wayoflife - series of thumps while steering was turned to either side while moving.

@JeepNH mine was in the front, driver's side, but I will keep that in mind.

Just turned over 3250 miles, still haven't had a recurrence. Mystified, but ever watchful.
