It's official!! At the 2014 L.A. Auto show, FCA announced that the all new 2015 Jeep Renegade will sell, and I quote, "well below $20,000" and this INCLUDES 4-Wheel Drive models!! This of course is fantastic news and what I had assumed all along. Check it out...
I need to pay off my JKU faster and get one of these. That is great to hear they are going to be starting "well below" 20K. Being honest with myself, I want the Trailhawk.
LOL!! Pretty excited about this news for sure. I just so wish the Trailhawk would be offered in a manual.
Very exciting! I will be buying one as soon as they arrive in St. Louis, but because I actually love the look of them, they're different than every other egg shaped small SUV out there. The low price tag is a great bonus!!
Lol, I'm on the fence on about the transmission. It will really depend on where I end up and if I have to deal with the same level of traffic I currently deal with.
No word on specific numbers as of yet but, Jeep has been saying all along that it would be in the 30+ range. With the new 9-speed automatic, I'm hopeful that it'll be in the mid to upper 30's.
Unfortunately, yes. Last I heard, the Trailhawk will only be offered with the Chrysler 2.4 L I4 Tigershark MultiAir2 (184 hp; 186 PS) with 9-speed Chrysler 948TE automatic transmission.
Great news! But I still don't get the horsepower and torque numbers. How does the Tigershark motor have more horsepower than torque, and less torque than the 1.4? Isn't that strange?
I don't know what to think about the nine-speed auto with a 2.4L engine. I'd prefer the manual, but I have to admit the five-speed auto in my 2012 JKUR has performed much better than expected. "Patience Grasshopper. The path will reveal itself soon enough."
