Wasn't sure if this question was more appropriate to post in 'Modified' or 'Stock' tech forums. I understand only the TH comes stock with the skid plates because it offers Rock mode, so is it possible to purchase OE skid plates for relatively cheap and install them on the Sport/Latitude models? Or are there any after market manufacturers that have began to ship their own skid plates?

Edit: After searching I only found 1 thread on this topic, if you know of any more please share the link! Thanks

I talked to my Jeep dealer service yesterday about this, they build custom jeeps and he is going to install the daystar lift on mine in a couple weeks. He said you can buy the OEM skid plates as a replacement part, but it is about $500 and they do not come with hardware. He recommended waiting a while because Jeep should be putting out an accessory kit that would include skids and hardware and at a cheaper price.

Alex, the mopar ones you mentioned, are these easy to put on? Are their holes ready to bolt the skid plates in ?

Thats awesome your dealer is installing the lift for you! Thanks for that information, I figured with installing TH skids and bumper Id rather just go for the TH in the first place, but I really want that 1.4, I wish the TH had the option.

Honestly, I don't know why Jeep limited things on the Trailhawk like that. While I'm happy with our motor, I would have preferred a manual transmission but of course, you can only get them with an automatic.

That being said, the Trailhawk skids are stout and up to the job of protecting your Renegade. At least, they have been for us so far.

Yea, it is unusual considering you can get a 6-spd option on a top-of-the-line Rubicon HR, but stuck with an auto for a TH.

I hope Jeep opens up the options in future models, thanks for the feedback on your skids. Sounds like a good investment for sport/latitude offroaders.

Chapman in Henderson. They have pulled aside a Renegade to build on and were in the process of installing the lift on theirs. He said he wanted to run it around a bit and make sure there weren't any issues before installing on mine.

I'm interested in this too. With all the $$$ I'm dropping on my lat modding it, I'd be a dummy not to get these.
