As some of you may know, we have a Daystar lift installed on our Jeep Renegade Trailhawk and while we haven't had any issues with it, there have been a few people out there who've broken the rear control arm brackets that come with the kit. Fortunately, Daystar has been quick to address the problem and has been taking care of anyone who has one of their older brackets. Needless to say, they sent us out a set of their new brackets and today, I finally got a chance to install them. Here's a shot of what the new brackets look like. As you can see, the welds are wrapped all the way around the bracket now and the whole thing is powder coated black. Here you can see the old silver bracket sitting next to the new black bracket - a BIG improvement. Here's Renny all racked up and ready to be worked on. Removing the old bracket. And here's a shot of the new bracket installed. Again, we never had any problems with our old control arm brackets but we were super happy that Daystar stepped up to the plate and sent us the updated ones and free of charge.
Looks great! Thanks for sharing. Does this reassure you now of the quality of the Daystar build? Or would you reconsider if you had to do again today knowing the G-Force lift with cantering kit is available?
Ummm, as I had pointed out in my post, I did NOT have any problems with the parts that I had. The fact that Daystar went out of their way to send me new brackets in spite of me not having any issues is pretty damn amazing. Needless to say, YES, I would totally do it again especially because of their outstanding customer service.
Unfortunately, I don't think there will be anyone willing to get involved in making any. At least for now, there simply isn't the market for them even though the Renegade really could use a set of heavier duty arms.
Yeah I was impressed with the new brackets they sent me. Though mine didn't get the powder coat job. I'm sure that's because they sent them to me immediately to get me back on the road. Less than 24 hours from my old brackets breaking and the new ones were at my door. Now that's service.
