Do you have a link to the nhsta about the smoking steering column?

So a 15 year design flaw that lead to the unfortunate death of a child is being equated to 4 instances (by my count) of a smoking steering assembly in the new Renegades? Really?

I for one find it a blessing that you've had problems with your Jeep. It feels good to know a fear monger like you is no longer driving one.

And for all those that are interested in this "NHSTA investigation". According to them there has been 1 investigation into the Renegade and it is already closed.

There is no steering investigation that I could find. Just some random users on Yahoo and other forums.

Im glad yall are in love with your jeeps and have had no problems. Let you get stuck on the side of a highway cause your jeep shuts off.

Or stuck in and intersection because your throttle stop responed or takes 20 feet to respond....

I am gladly a fear mongerer when my family is invovled...

They couldnt give a fuck less about your families safety so im glad you support them.

Man all those words and no evidence to back them up.

BEFORE you edited your post I understood that my previous post wasn't from the NHTSA so.....

Here is the 4 star crash safety rating from safercar.gov

    http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Sho...Newer+Vehicles/Vehicle-Detail?vehicleId=10730

And here and my search results from using there search engine on their page.

So again... How is my family in danger? Cuz according to the NHTSA as long as I don't roll it I'm good.

I went through the rolling 20 ft before the throttle responded and they fixed mine. Took them a month, but no problems since. Sorry you're having problems. Good luck with your next car.

People seem to be forgetting this is a brand new vehicle it's only been out for a little over a year (at least in the U.S.). A brand new car is going to have some problems/quirks especially since pretty much any new vehicle is computer controlled. Eventually down the road (hopefully) the engineers will refine the renegade. Until then I'm going to enjoy my trailhawk!

It does 4 gears by 50km/h. I say just learn to get used to it. Don't use the manual mode for braking, it doesn't work like the ratios a real stick has. Don't give up on the renegade. I enjoy my driving experience.

Exactly. The way I see it, It's a Jeep. It will have quirks. I had a JK and that's my mindset every time it had issues. It's not going to drive like a luxury car or a more expensive model. Although the Evoque starts around $40K and that has issues. Enjoy your Jeep! Always loved the boxy look. Reminds me of the 90's SUVs. Everything else nowadays are swoopy.

Knock on wood... Mine shifts smoothly too! The more miles I put on it, the better the gas mileage gets too.

I'm on a Facebook group for renegades and there is over 2k member's all over the world and SORRY to burst your bubble not once has anyone had a steering wheel catch fire. Lol and FYI I know I own a 1.4 turbo 4x4 I haven't been to the service department once and have owned it for 7 months. I have @ least 5 friends with the 2.4 automatic no problems with theirs. Yes they have updates but generally that is all they need. One other thing if you hate the service center you go to get a brain and try another dealer before you go on a rant. Because I know this might be hard to understand but some dealerships such and some are great. Move on

Now my jeep has a spark knock that is a known issue. And has no fixes and is ok to FCA to have my vehicle destroying the pistons, rings, and valves.
