Anyone used/have insight or advice regarding the Daystar lift for a FWD renegade? Seems like a reasonable way to get in and out of stream beds a little easier without a lot of tradeoffs?

I had a quote of 6 hrs by a 4x4 shop for installing here in Toronto. What should a qualified shop charge for hours to install? I know Eddie said it was 6 hrs for him, but that was with taking pics, etc. No info in the Daystar literature on expected timeframes.

It took longer than that at the shop is took it to, and they spent a couple hours talking to Daystar because they were having problems

Say, Thawk, what shop did you use in the PHX metro area?

Another place that has done a few is 4 wheel parts in Mesa, they quoted $590 with alignment

Wonderful, thank you! That's for the labor, and does not include the kit, right?

Yes, I think 4 wheel parts sold the kit for $340 +tax. You might have to have them order it.

That's pretty much what I was told at my dealership as well, because I specifically asked. Out of curiosity, what are they charging you for install at the dealer? I figure it will be slightly more than some other places.

Do you know how much the install would be around. Meaning affordable or astronomical? And would I buy my own kit or have them order it?

I was starting to feel as if there wasn't a noticeable difference to my Trailhawk after installing the lift and tired, but this picture proves it all. A stock Grand Cherokee parked next to me and my renegade sits taller than it.

Also, for those asking, I have noticed a .5-1 mpg drop in gas consumption since install, depending on how and where I drive.

I'm sure it varries, but my install was $460. I was quoted between $250 and $700, but I went with the reputable company right in the middle.
