Yup, there are definitely ways to make a wrangler a lot more comfortable but it does take a bit of money to do it.
Man, the recent posts in this thread echo almost exactly what I've been thinking. A co-worker of mine brought up the Subaru point a few days ago as well but Im still leaning more towards the BU. I really want a Jeep daily driver and to have an all Jeep driveway. Lol

For $1500 ish you can get the EVO plush rides and Rancho 9000 shocks. I have read that the ride is a lot better with those springs vice stock. Keep in mind that ride quality is 100% subjective, so what might be amazing to you may suck for someone else. If you haven't already, head over to wayalife.com and you can read a lot more detailed information there about the numerous options for the JK.
It really depends on how big of a tire you're wanting to run. That'll determine how much of a lift you'll need and from there, it's a slippery slope. While you can get a decent suspension setup for $2000, that won't include wheels & tires or drive shafts or axle shafts, etc. And, if you're not wanting to lift your Jeep at all, you're choices are limited. This is where something like a Renegade is a nice option.
Okay, looks like we're finally getting somewhere. I just went to Costco's auto buying program and you can now select and build a Renegade. Up until today, it was not an option you could even select.
It is different in the uk as most people drive manuals and we have smaller engines which will give you 60mpg. I have to say though that the driving comfort level is up there with the range rover evoque that I traded in. Hope you all get the have a go for yourselves soon. Here as well the wrangler is much more expensive than the renegade in fact a 12k starting price difference!
Im assuming your mpg numbers are from the diesel engine? Man I wish that would come to the US as well.
Okay, heard back from my representing Costco dealership and they said that they aren't expecting any Renegades until mid April
Honestly, that's what I said. He also told me that ordering one would for sure take a lot longer being that they come from Italy.
Damn, I think I was told five weeks for a JK. I cant imagine how long it would be for the Renegade. Does that mean you cant use the Costco buying program then?
No, I can still use it but basically just to get something on the dealer lot once they get them - that it be prepared to wait forever.
Saw some good news on FB. A few Renegades have shown up at a Detroit dealership. Hope that it is a sign they are actually going to be on the floors by the end of the month.
Talked to a guy I know who works for Jeep and he let me know that they should be here very soon for anyone east of the Rocky's. The whole harbor strike in CA screwed everyone on this side. Lame!
