curt rack with out the extension. It looked blah. By blah I mean plain, boring, stock. So I made some custom para-cord netting. Gives it just a little bit of a rough look. The bars are the plain round ones by Yakima i used on my Honda. They howled to no end , so if you notice on the front cross bar a yakima logo (blue marking I made on the photo), that's a fin they make, it clips on to the bar and completely gets rid of the bar noise. Speaking of noise, the basket does make some wind noise. Seems like the custom para-netting I made tamed it. A 42" light bar I mounted on the front of the jeep (similar to but cheaper than the daystar setup) seems to have blocked out a much of the wind as well. So, now my jeep seems as quite as when it was stock. So that's good. On the front on the basket I mounted some 8" led light bars. They are alright, mostly form over function, look cool though. Maybe later on I'll add some small square lights on the sides and a light bar on the rear, for 360 degree lighting. The my sky panels are still fully functional. The front one has plenty of room to open/close and can be removed. The rear one can also be removed, just takes some patience.
A U-Lock to keep the honest person honest. The wire bundle is there for a future project, maybe the 360degree lights..
up front, on top of the windshield. It's essentially the daystar light bar but I got a knock off and used a 42 inch curved bar instead of the straight bar daystar offers with their kit.
Excellent, that's how I'm going to mount mine also. Missed it on the other pics. Took most of the wind noise out? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
oddly enough the light bar did get rid of most of the wind noise caused by the roof rack. The para-net helped reduce the noise as well but not as much as the light bar up front. Now I can once again cruise on the freeway with the roof open.
I have the exact same ones on mine. I believe they are the aeroblade edge 7503b. You can also get them in at a dark silver in which model number will just be 7503. They're also cheaper than the black ones.
Have you had it out in the rain? I've read reviews on Amazon that say it can rust and leak rusty water onto the vehicle.
Thule aeroblade edge cross bars and a Thule Big Mouth roof top bike carrier. You'll also notice the thule wind fairing. I also have two yakima J low kayak carriers.
