Finally got some racks for our Renegade. Went with the Rola REX series (part 59686, for those of you keeping score at home.). Install was a breeze. I also ordered a cargo basket and will let you guys know about it when it gets here. Here is my rack - not a basket type - this rack is for carrying my surf fishing rods. The base rack is Yakima round bars with a front wind deflector.

Can you post more detailed pics of how you mounted it and what kind of materials you used... I want to build something like this since for my Trailhawk.

I guess I'm one of the only guys here with a rack on a Sporty... She didn't come with Roof Rails so I used the Thule Podium Setup.

Does anyone have some advice on where you should be mounting your crossbars and basket? More to the front, dead center or towards the back of the toaster roof. I've already mounted some crossbars on my 2016 Latitude but am thinking if I move them back a little that it would help with the crazy loud wind noise. I'm installing a basket/rack tomorrow and am thinking its just gonna be that much louder. I've looked at everyone's pictures but it doesn't appear what the general idea of placement is across the board. Advice??? I have a full length basket (Curt + extension) and have it as far forward and as far back as I can get them, to keep the basket as low as possible.
