My 2015 Latitude did not come with the rubber cap that fits over the fuel fill. In order to keep dust, dirt, etc out of the fuel fill I did the following.

I used the cap off of a 19.7oz Windex spray can. It fits perfectly. I am sure there are other products that use the same size can/cover.

As you can see in this photo there is some dirt inside the fuel area but the fuel fill itself is clean.

    Perfect fit.

It's cheap and it works. Pops on and off easily.

Is there any locking mechanism to prevent tampering, fuel contamination ? I worry more about what could go in the tank...

With the capless filler, you need the special funnel in the kit where the spare tire is in order to open it. Otherwise it's sealed shut even with the door open

Thanks for the reply, I see the flapper valve is spring loaded to stay sealed.
My concern is that you can push this open easily, with a finger, or something similar, and that contaminants could be added.
A locking cap would prevent this. I wish this wasn't an issue, but it could be in today's world.

you can only push open the first flap, which has drain and vent holes in the tube behind it. the secondary flap further down will only open when a proper size funnel or fuel nozzle are inserted and disengage the locking tabs on the sides. this design has been around for years, with no major issues. no lock is required .
