Long story short, I'm planning some trips to northern Colorado and would like to do some off road trails. I basically just want to get away from the crowds. I'm somewhat of a novice to off road trails, and I'm hoping the more experienced Renegade owners here could offer advice. 1. How do you find off road trails from a distance? When I drove a TJ through some trails in Salida we were recommended several county roads that went above the timberline. Was totally awesome. But if you look on a map... They look like normal roads. How do you find ones that are fourweb wheel driveoh oriented? 2. How do you determine what trails ate within reach? I know my Trailhawk isn't a lifted JK, but I also know it's much more capable than most SUVs. If I find a trail on a site like Trail Damage, how could I determine if the TH can handle it? Thanks in advance.
I live outside in lakewood colorado. Trail damage is a great tool. between that and actually searching youtube for people that have recorded the trails i usually make a good decison. I usually cant get higher than 3-4 due to clearance almost always. Theres another site where this guy updates when and how the big passes are open and most trails in colorado. If you have an area more specific i could try to throw out some names.
Thanks! We're staying in Greeley so probably looking for something west of Fort Collins. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
