I've only been able to find a few "random" suggestions for this issue, but if my Renegade sits for two days or longer, not being driven, the battery will be fully discharged. I can jump the Renegade and it will be fine from then on. But if I let it sit longer than two days, the battery is dead again.

The dealer has it now, didn't find any codes, I'm having them let it sit and fail in front of them. However, before I told them to do that, they flashed the BCM and other modules.

Anyone else have this problem? I checked through here to see if someone didn't already post these symptoms and/or resolutions earlier.

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks, Kori!

Hopefully it won't have to come to blows. The dealer has been easy going, but they came this close to suggesting I take it home today. One service rep was telling his other rep next to him, "...can you get the final paperwork for this?" and I held him up, telling him to hold onto it for two days (until Thursday afternoon or Friday morning) and see if it happens while sitting in their repair lot.

    Most appreciated!

Fyi, i drive a different car for work so Jeep has sat up to 4/5 days with mine and a dashcam on Park mode. No battery issues.

Dealer had it sit for 3 days to test starting it after they "installed" three module updates (2 PRM and 1 ICP) on Tuesday. They started it on Friday with no issues. Other posts around the net suggest that flashing the BCM (body control module, handles the power door locks and remote, etc) will also fix it.

    So far so good!

    Kori,

Please follow up with my dealership, LaFontaine Chrysler/Jeep in Saline, Michigan. My Jeep died again this morning (or was found dead) and I'm having it towed to them. I'm not going to jump it a third time. They need to see it in it's current condition so hopefully they can see what might be wrong.

    Thanks,

    Duck

The dealer replaced the battery after I brought the Renegade to them in a completely DEAD state (no interior lights, no door locks, no nothing) via tow truck. Then they decided that the battery is dead. I was concerned after my first visit when I jumped the Renegade and THEN brought it over that they said then the battery was "fine". If this fixes it, I'm cool with that. Since it's a warranty item, they just replaced with a standard stock battery. If I have to replace this any time soon, I'm probably going with an Optima AGS.

So perhaps this is the simple answer, Occam's Razor and all that (the simplest solution is probably the right one), or in other words, "if you hear hoofprints, don't start looking for zebras".

I just experienced this issue too. Fortunately(??), I had left the Renegade at home for my wife to drive this week and she only got stuck at home in our driveway. Normally, I take the Renegade to the airport and it sits for 4 days while I'm away on a business trip. I would've been getting back to a dead car at midnight on Thursday and that's the last time and place I want to be saddled with a dead battery.

The dealer indicated they were familiar with this, and will check it out and apply the updates. The downside is they're so inundated with work that it's going to be a 3-4 day turnaround...

*EDIT* My wife gets the Jeep jumped and tells me she's taking it to the dealer now because something is wrong and all the lights won't turn off..... She can turn a wrench and can drive stick, but she didn't know about the interior dome light roller switch, lol. At least it was nothing more serious.

If it makes you or your wife feel better, I did the same thing. Playing with the switches, figuring out how everything worked, I must have rolled that dome switch into the always-on position. Took me forever to figure out how to turn it back off. I read forums that were advising me to disconnect the battery or pull the bulbs!

Then I did a Google search and found a little YouTube video where a mechanic showed how to roll the switch down one notch to get the lights to turn off. I felt like an idiot, but at least I hadn't disconnected anything yet. :)
