Yes, a Proxy Alignment synchronizes the modules so that all of the module share the same information.

On the Renegade, anytime a modification is made to the information in a module a Proxy Alignment should be performed.

The Proxy Aligment clear the fault! Thanks for all your help Ed!

For being able to complete all the aligment process without fails I had to use both cables: the 12+8 and the grey adaptor together.

    Hi Ed,

Please don't hate me, but I have one last question for you. Sorry but you're the only one who could help me so far, and I can't find useful information about Jeep Renegade's Car Configuration from AlfaODB.

Is there any other option to force DRLs lights (halos/angel eyes) to stay on when only the front fog lights are on in the 2nd position (before low beam)? I know full led stock versions can do this, but not my Sport yet...

    Thanks in advance

    lol, not a hater. lol

I do not have a good answer for you.
I know of the DRL Dropout which keeps the DRLs on while the turn signals are functioning.
and the fog light drop out when the high beams are on. I haven't played with the DRL fog light combination

@IDoMy0wnRacing this is the best write up I have seen on AlfaOBD in any Renegade Forum. This tool does so much; however, there is no clear website I have found which really explains in any sort of detail what you need, what it looks like, or how to use it. Thank you for putting this together.

I am about to buy a bypass cable and I already have the MX+. I have a 2020 JR Trailhawk edition and I feel like several of the options I wanted, I did not get (i.e. an actual navigation system 8.4 Uconnect). I was going to purchase a 8.4 uconnect for the bigger screen. What other features can you unlock with AlfaOBD? I was hoping I could get all the features of having a navigation system and the turn by turn on the dash? Could AlfaOBD turn on that feature? Also is there a solid guide on how to use AlfaOBD with the JR. It seems like everything regarding that program and the JR is a trial and error process.

Oh man, you want to see a great write-up for AlfaOBD???

Check out the RamForum, I know it says Ram, but they are part of the family. :D

You wont get the navigation system on your dash without having the 8.4 Uconnect navigation. The best and most up-to-date nav system for you JR is going to come from you phone. It is approximately $140.00 to update your 8.4 Uconnect navigation every year, and even then, they are 2 years behind.

I have an Android, and use Android Auto so that Google Maps runs through my phone to the Renegade's (Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, now.) stereo.

Google maps is updated often, and doesn't cost you a thing.

I have the radio with apple carplay/android auto. I like it; however, that 8.4 c Uconnect is a bigger screen with more capabilities like the guardian and uconnect abilites I can use from my phone (i.e. locking the doors from the phone; etc.). I like the navigation functions because sometimes when service is bad android auto doesn't work and then you are stuck. I always believe two is one and one is none, so having a dedicated navigation system is better than not having one at all. I've had a few occasions where wazes would do something funky for a few minutes and it took time to recalibrate.

So if I am reading this post correctly, with OBD MX+ and 12+8 cable I should be able to do everything I need with the JR without having to buy a gray cable? I didn't understand how the gray cable works if the OBD MX+ is plugged to the 12+8 cable, how would the gray cable work if it is plugged into the OBD2 without anything attached on the other end?

True, no gray cable needed. The gray cable would plug in to the OBD port if you had a professional scanner. different colored cables are used for specific tasks.

The OBDLink MX+ and a bypass module or a 12+8 cable is all that you will need.

I prefer the 2018+ FCA Security Gateway Module Bypass Module and just leave it plugged in all of the time. JUST make sure it is removed before taking to a dealer. Then you can use the OBDLink MX+ in the normal OBD2 port next to the steering wheel.
BUT, the 12+8 cable will work also, you just can't leave it plugged in.
