Those plastic brackets are super stout and won't wear on the powder coating, also they work as part of a locking system that keeps your knobs from being turned and removed. Just a thought.
Reese Defender crossbars and Reese Defender roof rack system, aka Wal-Mart's finest. Hey there's nothing wrong with getting your gear from Wal-Mart. When done right and outfitted with the proper equipment, the rack looks amazing! Plus I only spent around $180 or less on both.
I ordered this one through Amazon at a great deal. I then got the box from an Army surplus online store. I ordered the Rhino Rack spare tire carrier through another online company.
I have the sport without roof rack rails. I just got the rails via ebay.Does that plastic strip you remove to install necessary
Waited patiently for about 2 months for this to come back into stock. Glad I did, seriously contemplated going with some other company...(lack of patience on my part). Assembly wasn't terrible, if you like assembling IKEA furniture your GOLDEN! Otherwise FrontRunner is an awesome company! Package arrived very well packed! I had an issue with assembly and Customer Service was on the phone and spot on! They also threw in a ton of SWAG!!!! T-shirts, Decals....Love the look! There is no difference in noise with it mounted on factory rails...
i went DIY since my cargo can vary from bicycle to camp gear. Got the rack at home depot of all olaves with 165lb capacity. Used hose clamps and rubber jack stand cover as spacers. Trimed of course
After looking at all the racks on this thread, I think the Rola is my fav. BTW TrailHawk 16, which wheels are you sporting ? Look OEM but I don't remember the T-hawk coming with those from the Factory ? Can't stand my factory T-hawk wheels. Looking for something else.
Anyone like to provide an update? Are you getting any rust? Things falling apart? Would really like to hear how these are holding up.
