I guess my renegade is kinda overland I use it to explore and camp. Have a awning and a tent room that attaches to it. Mounted a deep cycle agm battery in the spot where the spare tire would go, it charges while I'm driving and is separated when jeep is off, got 2 12v outlets wired to it, one for my dometic cfx28 fridge freezer the other for charging phone or running a small fan or whatever.
Current project is turning my '18 latitude into something a little more capable on trails and outfit it with the proper tools to allow beach driving OBX. TerraFlex 1.5" lift arrived today as well as 1" wheel spacers, will be picking up Trailhawk Springs in a couple weeks, roof basket is on order, and I think I will put some miles on stock 17" tires before upgrading to something bigger. Im hoping the stock tire size doesn't look too silly with the extra fender gap. May paint wheels a graphite pearl if I run out of things to keep me busy.
Thanks for sharing man! What kind of tent is that? It seems like your making great progress on the “overland” with the battery and fridge and all that! You plan on lifting and putting new shoes on the renny?
YES! You mean like a in vehicle air compress? What basket did you go with? I dipped my Trailhawks wheels black, and I like it so much I did it with real paint haha. I really just hate the OEM design.. I have some time to decide but it’s between avid and terraflex for the lift for me!
Thanks it's an arb room with floor. Currently I have the atp 2.0 just added the eibach springs last weekend tire are falken wildpeak at3w 245/65-17 I need new tires soon will probably be going with a set of duratracs
I'm definitely building towards overlanding, just on a smaller and less-hardcore scale. I got the even smaller dometic cdf-11 fridge. My "kitchen" is just a single burner camp stove. Hopefully, I will be getting an awning to attach to the ATP roof rack system once it arrives. OverlandBound.com is a good resource for all things overland related.
Sounds good! did you have to add the SmartPass also? or is the DS250A enough to charge the freezer, etc...
Do not have the smart pass so far the 20 amp capacity of the d250sa has been keeping the battery charged good. I do have the d250sa with smart pass in my travel trailer Im running 3 deep cycle agm batteries I needed the extra charging output
