Since I had some money left over from tax returns, I decided to go and get me the MAXfire Coil Packs from Madness (they look like rebadged NGEN coils TbH).

My Audi TT had Beru igniton coils and would always misfire at higher rpms and/or when the engine was under load until I put some coils from ACCEL on the engine.
So I figured going aftermarket wouldn't hurt Jeep.

Either way, I have a spare set of coils now.

    Here they are installed:

They go in fairly easy, though you do have to move the PCV hoses to get to the Coil on cylinder 1. All you need are some pliers (for the PCV hose clamp), a 10mm socket wrench, and about 30 minutes

    Changes noticed so far:

Engine looks neat with the red color
Idles a LOT smoother than before
Engine doesn't stumble when suddenly opening the throttle
Pulls hard right up to red line where as before it felt like power falls off after about 5k rpm
Power delivery is a lot smoother now too

I also got a PTP turbo blanket for cheap on Ebay, but I will have to wait until Sunday to put that on.

I'm assuming that this is the 1.4L Turbo...

    Yup.

Haven't been able to find too much for the 2.4L interms of aftermarket parts. I have been doing this because my wife is looking to get a Renegade, but needs an automatic. Teaching her to drive stick = marital strife like you wouldn't believe.

The 1.4L gets a lot of aftermarket love because of the Abarth and the Dodge Dart.

I think the Chrysler 200 has the 2.4L engine and uses the same ignition coils. Maybe look for stuff for that car?

The 2.4L engine was jointly developed with Hyundai and Mitsubishi as part of the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance.

It's been built in one form or another since 2005. I would not be surprised if at least some of the aftermarket stuff from other years fits, and possibly even other manufacturers.
