    Hi all,

I am the happy owner of a new 2016 red Trailhawk. It's my first Jeep, after owning many different cars, including a 10-year old Grand Vitara that we still have.

We were looking to get a yellow, orange or red TH but since this is 2016 clearance time, we only found a red one (searched in a 800-km radius). And the red was at the closest dealer which turned out to be very friendly and offered a very good price.

Got the Renegade with the removable roofs, leather seats, 6.5'' radio display, hitch receiver and backup camera. I also had the 1.5'' Daystar lift kit installed by the dealer. They had what I read are the typical alignment challenges and had to install camber bolts. I run 17'' winter steel wheels with Toyo GSI5 winter tires. The 1.5'' lift adds to the look. My wife thinks it's a bit high to climb in ;-)

The removable roof panels are not too noisy and seem well insulated. Even at -23°C, they don't feel too cold to the touch. They dampen noise I guess better than a soft top but when driving under overpasses we can hear the road noise beeing reflected and passing through the panels. It's also funny to hear ice and snow tickling along the panels.

This week-end my wife and I had to drive to Quebec City. When we left yesterday it was snowing heavily. And coming back today we had snow and freezing rain. The freeway was not very well cleared and the little Jeep performed really well. I think that its short wheelbase makes it a bit "dancy" on icy roads but nothing dangerous or annoying.

Next spring, I intend to replace the OEM Falken tires with more all-terrain type tires. I like the KO2; I test drove a TH at a dealer that had them on and was surprised by the low level of tire noise. Don't know yet what size I will put on; I don't want to have to cut into anything so I don't know how big I'll be able to go. I also like the bolt-on bumper/winch mount assembly. Maybe some off road LED lights. Headlights conversion to LED is also on the list of probable modifications - I think the OEM headlights are not powerful enough.

The truck is quite dirty from road calcium so no interesting picture to show.

Regards all, be safe on (or off) the road.

    Jean.

    Sorry, couldn't resist ;)

I'll take and post pictures when it becomes a little less stock.

Until then, have to get through winter.
