    Hi all,

Looking to pick up a Renegade in the next week or two (waiting a little closer til the end of the month) and I am on the fence about MySky. I have read where some say there is more noise with it. Anyone have any feedback? Like it? Love it? Could do without it?

    Thanks!

I did not drive a renegade without the mysky, but mine has it and I haven't noticed any obscene noise. I'm glad I have it, because it's nice to have open air when it's nice out. They're simple to take out and put in, they hardly weigh anything, and they had snow, ice and water on them all winter with no problems. The only problem with ice is it makes a very loud zipper-like noise when it slides across the roof, and gave me a good scare the first time.

The only problem I have found is when taking the panels out and storing them in the included bag, it has to go on the upper position of the trunk floor, making you move whatever is in the trunk.

Sorry for being long winded, hope it's helpful.

I have the MySky on my TH and I've loved the option to take off both panels when the weather is nice. I have noticed however that there is a slight creaking noise that seems to be coming from them while driving. It's occasional and not very loud so it doesn't really bother me

I actually doubt I will take both panels off very frequently but the powered front option is nice. But given I won't take them off often will have to weigh the pros/cons if any

Just a heads up. I got some pretty decent pressure fluctuation in the car when I had just the front out and the windows up on the highway. Hopefully I can find a way to lessen it.

Its definitely noisy when its open :D I usually keep my 9 speaker system around 22-28 and love the wind in my hair. I have yet to remove the tops, but I open my front every day. No leaks, no creaks, no anything. Sometimes Ill close it, and it doesnt close..and nothing is in the way. Reminds me of my 1st car! 94YJ :D Just such better mileage and much much much much better looking. And faster, and just better

Lol thanks for the feedback all. All good information. Keep it coming!

Jack D. - you can try slightly cracking a rear window(s). That might help.

Really? If that's the case then that makes my decision easier. I'd rather have the hitch.

You can have both, as my TrailHawk has the tow package and the mySky powered roof. I didn't really care whether I got it or not at the time, but the vehicle that I found with all the packages on it that I wanted just happened to be MySky equipped so I went with it. Man I'm so glad I did, I love that thing. I haven't had any leaking issue or additional noise whatsoever, but after sitting all day and the temperature dropping a lot at night I do get the occasional creak when I drop off the curb backing out of my driveway. That is the slight twist of the body and nothing to worry about in my opinion.

The panels are super easy to take out, and very light. So far my favorite combo is to remove the rear panel, and retract the powered front panel but leave it on. This pops the little windscreen up and helps to keep the headliner from blowing as much, which will not only help with the wind buffeting noise but it will also help your headliner not sag if it gets loose over time.

I love the MySky in my TH. It does add some noise and pressure fluctuations, but windows down can solve a lot log that issue.

Coming from a JK, it was the closest thing to having an open air experience. And it is one of the main reasons I went with the BU. (That and a real Jeep feel)

If it's an option, go for it - even just the power option for a large sunroof is something that is really nice at any time.

This is exactly what I do, and I love the combination. You get about 2/3 of the rear opening, and none of the buffering, even at highway speeds.

Has anyone figured out how to pop the front windscreen when you have the panel off? It seems like that would reduce a lot of the wind buffeting.

Can you not hit the open button just enough to release the wind deflector? I thought about installing an aftermarket sunroof deflector sort of like the window deflectors. Like this - https://www.realtruck.com/stampede-sunroof-wind-deflector/

When you take off the panel, the button disengages so you can't open it, and I don't thing you can remove the top once it's open... So I'm kind of stuck...

Deflector looks like a good idea...

If I could find a deflector that lets me take the panel out I would buy it right this second.

Most of those wind deflectors are mounted using 3m tape so they can be mounted to allow enough room to room the mysky panel

Most local auto parts stores have these items in stock so you could go do some measuring there. Also some stores may let you place it on the roof before you buy one, I've even seen them sold at Walmart!
