The all new 2015 Jeep Renegade or, BU as it is known by its letter designation, is the first subcompact crossover SUV that Jeep has ever released and, it's the first model that will not be made in America. Thanks to the acquisition of Chrysler by Fiat, the new Renegade will be built in Melfi, Italy where its cousin, the Fiat 500X is made as well.

Because 4 wheel drive vehicles are what Jeep is known for making, the Renegade will be offered in 2 different systems, one of which will the Active Drive I and the other will be the Active Drive Low and both will be mated to Jeep's Select-Terrain System. In an effort to make this new B-Size Jeep more of an outdoors vehicle, the Renegade will also be offered with an optional My Sky dual panel removable roof. The cool thing about the My Sky is that it can be opened like a standard sunroof or taken off completely to give you a rag top or convertible feel.

    MODELS
The 2015 Jeep Renegade will be available in a Sport, Latitude, Limited and a "Trail Rated" TrailHawk option. All the models except for the TrailHawk will come as a front-wheel drive vehicle that can be shifted into 4 wheel drive. The TrailHawk will be offered with Jeep's Active Drive Low 4 wheel drive system and it will also feature a small 20mm lift as well as skid plates, tow hooks and 17" aluminum wheels.

    INTERIOR
With seating for 5, the 2015 Renegade seats will be available in cloth and leather and will have a 60/40/60 rear folding bench as well as a 40/20/40 front passenger seat for greater cargo capacity.

A Uconnect 5.0 BT radio with AM/FM, Sirius XM satellite radio, CD/MP3, iPod, USB, 3.5 mm aux audio jack, voice command and touch screen head unit will come standard in the Renegade and an optional rearview back up camera will be offered as well.

    ENGINE
Here in the U.S.A., the new 2015 Jeep Renegades will all come with 4-cylinder engines, sourced both from Fiat and Chrysler.

    • Fiat 1.4 L I4 FIRE MultiAir Turbo 119 kW (160 hp; 162 PS) 6-speed Fiat C635 manual
    • Chrysler 2.4 L I4 Tigershark MultiAir2 137 kW (184 hp; 186 PS) 9-speed Chrysler 948TE automatic

I like the 6 speed option better.

I wonder what the price point will be on these models. I sure the he'll dont want to spend 25 plus on this economic ride..

Price point will be key in how well the Renegade sells. A Toyota Rav4 does sell in the mid $20k-up but, it's also a lot bigger and is in the "compact" SUV class - NOT "sub-compact" like the Renegade. A Kia Soul which is a sub-compact has a starting price of $14,900 BUT, it's not a 4WD. Early discussion about pricing for the Jeep Renegade had suggested that it might come in at a $17k price tag for a base model with numbers going up from there and I find that to be plausible.

17 for the renegade is doable. Although I really want leather and the moon roof. I bet the price points match closely to the 500L

I'm not sure the extra cost is worth it for the trailhawk version. I wonder how much more capable it really is

On another note, the Fiat 500L which is a 4-door and similar to a Renegade costs about $19k and a recent article that Overlander posted up suggested that the price would be the same. Of course, the Fiat is gunning for a different audience and would hope that the Renegade would be priced a bit less. If not, a fully loaded 500L comes in at about $24k. I had always anticipated the TrailHawk to come in the low $20k range and so long as it does, I won't have too much heartburn over it. Of course, if you wait a year and get a used one, I'm sure you could pick one up for under $20k.

That is a good question. Or, more to the matter, would you really even need it? The TrailHawk comes with about an inch of lift, bigger tires and a low range. Those are all useful if you're trying to wheel but, if you're just going out to do some exploring, you may not even need any of that.

20 k isn't bad, I won't cry over it if that's the price. I just will not spend mid 20's. Of course if the gas mileage is decreased with the trailhawk that will be a deal breaker .

It really is starting to annoy me that FCA won't even put out any numbers for MPG. I kinda have to wonder what's up with all the secrecy. Not like there's anything else in it's class or even soon to come out.

Oh, and as far as price goes, like I said, I'm not too worried as I seriously doubt these Renegades will hold their value like a JK does. No sub-compact does. That being said, if I have to, I'll just pick one up during the end of the year clearance or, get one used. I'm sure it'll be a hell of a lot less by then.

    Welcome to ToasterJeep!!

In my opinion, these new Renegades MUST have a base price under $20k in order to be a hot seller. And really, the more below $20K the better as that's where the audience this Jeep targets the best is at. I don't think people will flinch if you can get a fully loaded one for a mid $20k price tag but that'll need to be the exception and not the rule. If Jeep can't pull this off, this forum will be short lived.

    LOL!! No kidding.

In all seriousness, I have a hard time believing that the Renegade won't have a base price below $20k especially being that they are canning the Patriot and Compass. Without them, there won't be any sub $20k Jeep in the line up.

Yea it really needs to be at the 17k mark IMO for the base model to start at

Based on the recent speculation of sub-20k price tags, I'm hoping the trail hawk is $22k or less fully loaded.

That's kind of what I'm hoping for as well. Any more than that and potential buyers will be looking at a Cherokee.
