Any members from Italy with a 1.4T renegade? Can you please check your manual and let me know what kind of oil it states as recommended? 5w40 or 0w30?
A photo of the manual page would be very much appreciated.
    Thanx!

5W40 in the US manual, and I doubt it is different in Italy.

Actually it is different in Italy, Greece, Germany etc.
    They recommend 0w30.
That's why I am so confused...

There are a lot of reasons the recommendation can be different for different regions beyond just the environment...

I don't know specifics for the regions of Europe, But in the U.S. gasoline blends are changed for the different seasons, and that can change the amount of particulates that get into the oil. If Greece has a higher sulfur content in their fuel, Fiat/Chrysler might want an oil that suspends that particulate matter better, but might not want to specify multiple oils for the entire European region, because the vehicles tend to get moved around the continent, Just like one sold in Connecticut in the US can easily end up spending most of it's life in Texas.

Bottom Line, what's in the manual is a compromise based on where Chrysler thinks the vehicle will most likely be used and many factors related to that, Try to use what they recommend for the area you drive in the most if possible.
