Hi all, I was a Jeep KJ (liberty) owner that lasted 292,000 miles. I just picked up a 2015 BU latitude (toaster) today. I ready to start MODings. My question is other then Tranny, hooks, and springs how is the Trail-hawk different?
Welcome to the forum and enjoy your Renegade. The TH has skid plates in addition to the items you mentioned. Different bumpers with higher approach and departure angles. It can ford a stream up to 19" deep as opposed to about 11" for the other models. I don't know if all the following is considered transmission or not but - It also has hill descent which will keep the TH at a reasonable speed going down a steep trail. The TH starts in 2nd gear, has low range which is actually 1st gear and a rock mode. It also has a different final gear. It also comes with 215/65/17 tires as opposed to 215/60/17, this accounts for part of the slight lift the TH has, the stronger springs also factor into the .8" lift. I can't think of anything else at the moment.
There are skid plates, springs, lifts and bumpers available for the Latitudes from numerous vendors. Browse thru the forum and you will find a lot of info available to help you with your mods.
W E L C O M E ! ! ! to the forum. The Trailhawk also has heavy duty front lower control arms/ball joints.
