    Hi All

1st post and I just registered today. I turn 50 in 1 month!!! So for my birthday i am thinking of getting the 2019 Renegade Trailhawk.

I am choosing the Trailhawk and NOT a 2 door Rubicon for 2 reasons.

1st and the main reason is...I just cant get the $$$$ together for a full blown Rubicon...just a lot for me. :(

2nd I drive almost 45 miles 1 way to work every day and I need a car that gets great MPG. So the Renegade's 25+ MPG on the freeway is fantastic.

I am a country raised kid (from Colorado), and I really just got to get out of the city, so looking to head to the mountains and out to the desert on weekends. I figure the Trailhawk would help me do this in a good way.

    So Greetings to you all.

PS. what do you all think of the 2019 Turbo engine change??? I wonder about this getting really hot while slow crawling in a 100* heat out here in Cali.

Do I get a 2018 with the previous year engine and take the almost 4000.00 rebates that Jeep is giving out now?

I heard they also retuned the 9 speed tranny for 2019 to make it better (in general) using customer feedback from previous years.

Lastly, is the 2019 undercarriage and drive system the same as the 2015-2018 models? I would like to lift it and puts springs on it like OGJEEP did.

Welcome to the forum. The US 2019's are not out yet so not sure exactly what all the changes will be like. I have seen videos of the European and Brazilian 2019's and they look nice but they have a much wider range of engines than we do, especially with the diesel. I would think the undercarriage should stay much the same but who knows. The 1.3 sounds like it will do the job from what I have read. It is supposed to have better MPG and it has more torque than the 2.4L. I live near a port where some of the Renegades come into the US and there are no Renegades there at all that we could see except for 1 damaged 2018 Limited. We usually take a ride through the port every couple of weeks so I will keep an eye out for any 2019's. There aren't many 2018's at the dealers in my area and between the bunch of them there are only 3 Trailhawks available. Good luck with your choice. Keep us posted.

    Thanks for the reply's...

Yeah I have been reading that the 2019 models wont make it out to dealers until almost October...WOW. That is a long time to wait. I am driving a 2006 Scion TC with almost 260,000 miles on it. So yeah time for a new car.

The only good thing about waiting until October 2019 for the Renegade is that I can at least go to the Orange County Anaheim Auto show and there should be a 2019 Renegade there to sit in and look over. Also by then the new Ford's should be released, the Baby Bronco and such...then in November/December we have the LA Auto show.

Holy cow that is just a long time to wait though...I will miss this years summer 4x4 season here in Cali...:(

Hello hello! The only technical details I can currently offer about Renegades is don't hit another vehicle with the stock front bumper. :D Hopefully I'll learn more and be able to share.

The 2019's arrived at the port near my house last week and started shipping to dealers immediately. We saw about 300-400 new Renegades and we saw trucks being loaded with them.
