So I got my new Jeep Renegade back in December and as soon as I got it home I washed and waxed it. What I noticed was I was getting wax on the black plastic trim on the outside of the car. This would leave a white haze to the plastic.

This is what it looked like before

I used every sort of armor all/ plastic cleaner I could find. The best I would get was when I used a cleaner product it would seem to remove the haze and then a few minutes later it would come back. I asked my mother what I could use to get it off and of course mother always knows best.

Step 1. Go the pantry closet and find a nice jar of Peanut butter! Any sort of peanut butter will work how ever I would say Chunky would make more of a mess.

Step 2. Get some bread....and make your self a sandwhich....and then eat it

Step 3. When your done go out side and smear some peanut butter on the white haze and let it sit for a few minutes

Step 4. Get a damp wash cloth and clean off the peanut butter and thats it! Clean plastic trim and a healthy delicious snack

LOl make sure you follow step 1 and 2 those are the most important steps! I didnt believe it until I tried it. Apparently the oils in peanuts do something to wax and it takes it right off the plastic

Great write up! Now if you could go back to step 1 and 2 for me and go into detail on how the sandwich was made I would appreciate it

x2 for peanut butter! Bought my jeep from the dealership and whoever detailed it there did a terrible job. had wax all over the lower plastics. Used peanut butter to remove it and worked great! recommendation though is too do this before washing it, for you will have some peanut butter oil on your paint after rinsing.

I happened to have peanut butter but it's not common in Brazil, believe me.. And I don't really like it so I found a use for it hahaha

The easiest fix I've come across for removing that haze is the pink rubber erasers everyone had in grade school. It doesn't take much effort and won't come back once the oils in peanut butter dry up. Although your way is much more fun.
