I just bought these lights, I'm gonna mount them with ditch light brackets.

I'd like to have them as running lights, but flash with my turn signals. I'm unfamiliar with what needs to be done with wiring to make this happen.
If someone has experience adding aftermarket turn signals to their Renegade, I'd appreciate the help!

they will blind the hell out of other drivers if used as a running light, especially if mounted up in the ditch light location.

Not the entire light, just the 10w amber x.

I have added a few after market lights in my day. Modern cars, including the Renegade, use a CAN bus system. That basically means that if you splice more lights into the same wires as other lights, the car will think there is a problem. What I have done is used a 12 v relay to power my extra lights and used a quick splice connector to get the signal from the factory lights and trigger the relay. I ran wires directly to the day time running lights to trigger my relays that power my fog lights (my renegade did not come with factory fog lights).

Your plan gets more complicated if you want the lights to blink with the turn signals. My day time running lights turn off when the blinker is on, but they do not blink. They are simply off while the turn signal is blinking. You would need one set of relays to "blink" the light with the turn signals and another set of relays to power them the rest of the time.

If I were you, I would settle for them being on all the time or blink with the blinkers. But you must do what you feel is right, of course.

Yeah, worst case scenario, I guess I'd just have to settle for running lights only.
I found this harness that lets you add turn signals to where the Renny only has reflectors/running lights

I was thinking maybe if I'd splice into that harness, that could work?
There's a couple of similar kits like that one floating around out there. I haven't heard of them causing hyperflashing, have you?

I think it should be fine. Make sure to let us know how it goes.
