Is it commonly known in the Renegade community that DayStar issued an official recall for the inadequately welded brackets on the 1.5 inch lift kits? I didn't find clear mention of that in this thread.

What it means is that any owner may have his/her suspension inspected and the affected parts replaced free of charge. This means labor, too. Here are the pertinent details:

If this is already well-known, my apologies for the redundancy.

If you didn't see it on the other thread here is the all green alignment from the shop I like in Lake Barrington, IL A&N MasterTec. He did it without camber bolts. He had his monkey on a stick tool and I think he may have done a bit of grinding of ??? Anyway all green so if you need an alignment / lift install give them a call.

I haven't been able to bring it up to the shop lately to work on it some more but I'm ordering AT tires for it this week so I'm planning on just slotting the strut holes a little to correct the camber when I rack it up to do the tires. My caster is dead even side to side so I'm not worried about that. It won't pull one way or the other while driving or wear the tires and I haven't noticed any difference in the steering feel on the highway.

This bothers me from DayStar, this is the same issue as the weaker original brackets included with the early lift kits. If they know the sway bar links are an issue, they should send them to everybody affected just like they did the better welded brackets. They shouldn't wait for people to come to them with issues and fix them on a case by case basis.

I bought my kit last month and it came with the fully welded brackets as well as the metal Moog grease-able sway bar links to replace the OEM plastic ones. It's hard to send them to previous customers without you contacting them first if they don't have your shipping info. I didn't see anything on their site about buying from them directly so I bought mine from a middle man retailer so Daystar has no clue what my address is unless I call them myself.

I guess you're right, and I actually purchased my lift from a third party retailer as well now that you mention it. Mine did however come with the updated brackets at the time, so that was a win.

I don't have the clunking noise that some are having issues with, if I do I guess ill just have to give Daystar a call.

And I've installed many lift kits over the years from well known reputable brands and if sway bar links is my only problem, I'll be perfectly happy. In fact, every lifted truck I've seen come thru the shop has had sway bar links break at some time or another. I've also seen kits rip pieces off a frame that can't be reattached, u-bolts break and have the rear axle shift freely, spring perches on struts break off, etc. And there's no real off road trails around here. These are 90% mall crawlers.

The kit I received just a week ago from Madness came with the old brackets. Contacted Daystar, sent them a couple pictures and they quickly sent me new brackets. It was disappointing to receive an older kit but they took care of the problem.

Has anyone had any issues with their front suspension freaking and popping? If so is there a solution or something to live with?

Its usually one or both of the sway bar links might be loose at bottom where the nut goes so check there first.

I've had my daystar lift on since Sept 17 and been on some moderate trails and have had no issues other than non lift related stuff. My rear drivers side bracket had to be slotted for proper alignment. What I don't get is why daystar has all the extra spacers for other things like the carcoal filter, etc. While other kits like Avid do not.

Obviously this is still an issue because this just happened to me today and almost caused a wreck.

That’s sucks. They look like the ones that were recalled because they appear to be only spot welded.

Oh yeah it was definitely only spot welded and pretty poorly I might add. The other bracket has a full weld so I just welded this one properly and fixed the issue. This kit was just purchased a month ago from 4 Wheel Parts.
