Hello all. Been trying to do some things with the AlphaOBD app. I have the full version of the app, I have the OBDLink MX dongle and I have a Gateway Bypass module, since I own a 2019 model.
I have no issues establishing communication with the dongle or connecting to various modules of the Renegade's systems (Instrument panel, body computer, etc.).
The problem is that when I try to change a setting, for example: deactivate the seat belt alarm, I get an "ECU has detected the request contains parameters with values outside allowable range". I get this same message for most other things, too. I feel I'm missing a "setup" step or "settings" adjustment to get the AlphaOBD app and associated hardware running smoothly but info about that stuff has been hard to come by.
I'm watching folks in videos doing all sorts of cool things with their AlphaOBD setups without any issues. Unfortunately, there are very little Jeep videos and none I've seen for Renegade. Most are for Ram trucks or the Dodge "hot rods", which fundamentally should be the same, anyway. But again, not much in terms of troubleshooting.
Anyway, I'm open for suggestions. There's some settings, like seat belt alerts and tire pressures I'd like to change, as well as for future diagnostics and code reading/clearing since I plan on keeping this Renegade for many years to come.
    Thanks!!

I was able to make and update a change to tire circumference the body computer unit without any error message you received. I did have to revert the change because nothing else was happy with the change and didn't know how to get rid of the ABS and transmission errors that occurred after the update. Haven't really tried to update anything else.

Thanks for the input. I'll get it figured out. I'm going to contact the app developer and hope for some suggestions. I've also posted on other Renegade forums and Alfa/Fiat forums with little response thus far. Oh well...................

Did you ever get this figured out. I just got alfaobd and obdlink mx+. Having some issues too. When I attempt th change seat belt alarms, global windows down, fog light dropout, they don't say enable/disable. They say present/absent. I tried setting it to present for the windows and my dash alarms went crazy and odometer started flashing. Luckily, I changed the setting back and did a proxy alignment and it fixed everything.

IF there is an alternate method of disabling the seatbelt alarm for example without the need for a scan tool (AlfaOBD in this case), then you will get an error message.

For example, deactivate the seat belt alarm can be preformed by the user without a tool so that this specific safety feature can also be reenabled by the user without the need of a special tool.

    To remove seatbelt chime...

    1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and fasten the drivers seatbelt.
    2. Start engine, and wait for Seat Belt warning light to turn OFF.
    3. Within 60 seconds of the Seat Belt warning light to turning OFF, unbuckle and then re-buckle driver's seat belt 3 to 5 times, ending with belt buckled.
    4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that your life is in your own hands.

It may take several tries to get it disabled.

The seatbelt chime will be off, but the seatbelt warning light will be illuminated.

It is the same process to reenable the seatbelt chime.

Hmmm. I’ve tried the buckle unbuckle thing about 10 times. Doesn’t seem to work either. Should the car be started or just in the on position. Chryslers I’ve owned in the past need to be on, but not started. I’ve tried it both ways though.

There’s a chime the first time I unbuckle and nothing after that.

    Just in the on position.

typically called: Ignition On, Engine Off position.
