Title says it all, they replaced the front engine seal the week before Christmas, it still leaked,(Didn't think that was the issue because of where the leak was, but they're the mechanics not me)....been at the dealer since right after Christmas...
I noticed in June when I went to do an oil change that the skid plate was full of oil and sand(from the beach). I thought at the last oil change the dealer must have done it w/o removing the skid plate and let it run out all over the top of the plate...must have been leaking since then...good news is although it looks like it leaking a bunch, it wasn't low on oil at all.
I'm loving the minivan I got as a loaner!! Might actually buy 2!! [SARCASM]o_O
Hopefully I hear something by the weekend...UGH:mad:

They've had her since the 26 of Dec...they still don't know where its leaking from...I'm still thinking rear main, but they assure me it isn't. Supposedly some mechanic with a scope is going to look at it today...I mean, there are really only are a few places oil could be coming from right? I'm not a mechanic, but how many different possible leak points could there be in the engine block...

k, from the dealer, "we can't find where its leaking from so we are going to pull the motor and change the rear main seal...3-5 days for parts)...I asked what would cause the front and rear seals to fail so early, they had no answer. I asked if it might be an issue with the crankshaft, they said no if there was a problem, engine diagnostics would pump out a code...not sure if that is true tho...o_O

All the parts for the repair should be in today...the dealer says it should take about a week to fix...Again, they've had it since 26 December.

OK for anyone still reading this, dealer says all parts are in and they will "try" to get it in the shop tonight or tomorrow...bad enough you wait 3 weeks for parts, now there's no room at the inn...they say to expect it back by this Thursday...we'll see...I think the part that upsets me the most is a couple of months ago I sent her in to get my last free JEEPWAVE oil change and a tire rotation, after the work was done they informed me that my jeep wave membership had expired 2 weeks before and I would need to pay to renew it. Instead of renewing I figured they could just use my last free one. No they told me, that wasn't possible, and that'll be $190...thanks for nothing

I can empathize with you there. I waited two weeks to get into a repair shop (luckily while still driving my jeep) and then two weeks for repairs, more parts and final repairs. All the while rocking a 4 door Yaris rental while we get 14" of snow. This was at a decent shop taboot. I deplore going to my dealership for any work. I don't know if they run the mechanics too hard or just make them miserable. It seems the work done there is always horrid quality.

So that is my greatest fear, I pray the work done is good, I am very concerned about it never running right again. Thankfully I still have 2 years left on the powertrain warranty so that if they do foul something up I at least have that going for me...also they still never found the source of the oil leak, they are just hoping that changing the bearings and seals will stop it...if shes still leaking after the repair I'm not sure what to do...

Well, got her back Friday evening...Worked her out a little this weekend...I'm going to try to get her on a lift for inspection either Tue or Wed. They replaced rear engine seal and bearing...I was told that the rear seal was definitely the issue, I wish they woulda looked into closer when I first brought it in when I told them I thought it was the rear seal...probably would have had it fixed by the end of last year...

I feel your pain, I’ve been there before.
Quite like the time I went to the ER and asked for medacation for my flare up of diverticulosis and am told we been to run a bunch of tests to see what’s causing your pain, 5 hours later they tell me I have diverticulosis , here a prescription and a bill for $6000 for all the tests we had to run.
I told them to eat their bill, I told them the problem when I came in and only needed the meds to relive the pain and antibiotics to clear up the infection.
