So some one lost a lug nut on 495 a few days ago, and my trailhawk was kind enough to find it. That lug nut made quite the impression on the windshield, so much so that it will take Honeybadger at least a month or range time to get it out of its system. But seriously, a month for a windshield, jeep didn't plan out those logistics very well.
Back orders of 100s of units adds to it I am sure, you would figure they would have the logistics down by now.
I just joined the busticated window club. A rock on the highway. At the moment it looks like a small spider crack so I'm hoping Safelite can fix it before it needs to be replaced.
Well, they "fixed" it... if by "fixed" you mean make the crack larger. They apparently needed to chip the windshield to be able to inject the resin. This made one crack in particular longer, but supposedly the windshield is now stable and won't need replacement. And if the crack does grow, they'll credit the amount I paid toward the cost of a new windshield. Of course, the problem is the new length of the crack makes me kinda want to replace the windshield. I asked about the cost of replacement and the Safelite guy could only guess $400-$500. He said he really didn't know since there aren't any aftermarket options available. Oh well, I guess I'll live with the crack for a while.
I am now part of the busted window club. 4- 6 week estimate, and they say I cant get the OEM with the jeep . anyone replace windshield and not get jeep in corner?
Caine I am well passed the month mark and still waiting on mine, however I was told that the "willies' windshield was the ONLY option. and its 980 $$
I'm 8 weeks in to my wait (as of this coming Monday). Talked to the shop yesterday and dealer won't even give an estimate on timeline
Hmm I called Jeep and some how they "expedited" mine. Still taking ages but should be done by next week end.
Let us know how it goes Nova. I've been given an install appointment twice only to he called on the day of to reschedule because it didn't come in like they said.
Not looking good. All my friends saying... Thats why you don't by the first year they come out with new model... Damn them no sense of adventure.
I've been waiting for my windshield since May 13th . Safelite ordered a replacement using my vin, they received it and planned on installing it on June 28th.. Guess what ..they got the wrong windshield. I need the one with the light sensor, which is over a 3 month back order .So they re- ordered for October 12th install. They used my vin number to reorder...I hope they get the right one this time... If my windshield was totally busted out, I would be without a vehicle for over 6 months! The blue tape arrow points to the light sensor.
Welp I got mine in Jeep helped a lot they tracked it all the way to safelite.... now getting safelite to do their job took another week or more.
I actually work at Mopar and have been stocking windshields. I have no idea why it takes so darn long. But maybe the dealer can get one to you quicker.
