So anytime I turn on my AC I get a foul smell, almost sour smelling. I am assuming that it is some kind of mildew, I just don't know where to start looking. Anything thoughts?

Cabin air filter could help? I know when we find dirty cabin air filters, its typical the interior is dusty, and has a foul smell..sometimes its the driver tho

Sometimes this is from mold on the evaporator fins. The evaporator stays cold after you turn it off and attracts moisture. The moisture then allows mold to grow.

You can get a foaming cleaner that you shoot up through the condensation vents. I haven't done this on a Renegade yet, but most cars have one or two little rubber hoses that let the condensed water drain out. Get the foaming cleaner and crawl underneath, shoot it up in there and see if that helps.

It's also a good idea to turn the AC off a couple minutes before you shut the car off and run the fan on high to dry out the evaporator.

    Good luck -

I got the smell a couple days ago, it smells pretty gross, it's only when I first turn in the AC though.

    There's a filter. It's behind the glovebox. Mopar #68267921AA

"Genis" nope. But you don't have to take the car completely apart to change it. It would be well worth it if you had a moldy filter.
