I've got a 2015 Renegade with the smaller, 5" original stereo unit. It worked fine but a few modifications were done on the car at the same time and nobody can tell if they have something to do with the issue or not. I installed a Madness gearbox programme, a RaceChip tuning box for engine tuning and a RaceChip gas pedal tuning. The dealer also updated all my software to the latest versions at the same time . When I got these tuning works done then I didn't listen to the radio at all, I just drove the car home and parked the car for 5 weeks in the garage without a trickle charger. When I got back from a trip then the battery was still OK, the car started well and I began driving around with it - and that's when I recognized that there is a crazy static noise coming from the car speakers that appears all the time, regardless the source I use: regular radio or playing Bluetooth music or having a phone call. I took the car to the dealer who said that probably the speakers are wrong as they didn't find any issue with the radio - but I doubt they tried with other speakers or they can check thoroughly the issue in regard to the tuning parts they installed. Has anyone experienced a similar issue with static noise from your stereo (regardless whether your car is tuned or not)? Or do you have any idea if it can be related to the tuning somehow or it's an independent issue that accidentally came up in this time? Thanks in advance!
I got a similar situation on my 2018 Sport model. But mine in transient, some times the speakers have static and sound "blown out" other days it sounds great. Can't help but think it has something to do with something electronic, grounding or something.
