Hello fellow toaster drivers! In the fall of 2020 I knew nothing about Jeep Renegades. I had been driving a 2017 Chevy AWD Trax that was giving me fits with all the problems it had & I needed to get out from under it. I wasn't particular about it's replacement as long as it was 4x4 or AWD . I need that to get up this hill I live on during the winter. I'd been to several dealerships and had been turned down because I was upside down more than the financing would be able to cover. I ended up at the local jeep dealer and test drove a new Renegade and thought "this will do". They couldn't get me financed for that one either. They got another one out and said try this one. It was a 2019 Renegade Sport that was a " program" car with 5000 miles on it. For those that don't know what a program car is, it's a car that they use for a loaner or one that they might give to the salesman of the month to drive until someone else wins that title.
The dealer got my credit approved and I drove it home feeling somewhat neutral about it but very glad that I got out from under the Trax. To make this long story a little shorter, I ended up falling in love with the thing after driving 250 miles in a snowstorm the Christmas before last. Unfortunately I drove it into a ditch last month and the insurance company totaled it. All the planets must have been in alignment because everything worked out with the insurance and I was able to replace it with a brand new 2022 Altitude. I ended up with a 3 year newer car that's up a couple of trim levels for a payment that's $15/month less than the Sport. I'm happy!
