2018 limited electrical issue

    posting for a friend Taylor Coleman and her renegade “Warly”

    we’re on our way home [SD, CA] from moab and my Rene just pulled some weird shit on us. We stopped for gas and went to go turn the car back on and get out to the street and it won’t give any acceleration and starts beeping at us saying, to shift, car must be on. So we pull the car over and press the button to turn it off, and it starts trying to turn it on, even though it’s already on, so it starts making that noise that happens when you turn a key in the ignition for too long, I think the proper way to say it is overturning the engine or something like that. Idk how we stopped it but eventually it stopped and we were able to turn it off and back on. Another 15 minutes goes by and it starts jumping when we reached 60. We’re 3 hours from home.

    I advised them to disconnect neg batt terminal for a few minutes to see if it rectified it. a little later, they’re back on the freeway, no warning lights on & all temps been normal. they thought it might be the ignition fuse, and were afraid to turn the car off thinking it wouldn’t start again. Made it home safely. Next morning came to the jeep sitting over a pool of oil. mechanic came and checked things over. running but it flashes all sorts of lights when I turn it on. Every day there’s a new light that flashes for one second then goes away.

    tried a search in here and the other forums and didn’t catch anything.

    update- Jeep is at home waiting for the jeep dealership to call back for scheduling a visit. Pathetic. but hey, now a days with contact-less etc perhaps o_O

    She has sent you a PM with the details. Appreciate the care and attention you and your team give to help troubled jeepers get their issues resolved. Sadly it has to resort to this

    UPDATE.. she’s still waiting to hear back from you, AND their dealership..... I told @WarlyAndWe to start calling other dealerships. seems to be the case of them.. sell sell sell. service a renegade? na. what the hell is that. (I’ve experienced this first hand too)
