It’s a lot better than it was. There’s still a little vibration, but not even close to the amount there used to be. I might go ahead and switch out the drivers side too.
Well the vibration is back. The other two motor mounts are on the way. However, I’ve noticed a new development. The renegade rarely does it, but occasionally, if I slowly take off, then let off the gas and take off again (like edging out of a parking space) the rpm’s rev up and it doesn’t move for a second. It’s like the transmission is slipping. If I let off the gas and hit it again, it goes.
Sorry to hear about the vibration being back, I hope the other mounts will solve that.. Sounds like the tranny is taking some time to build pressure, it might be a bit low on fluid.. Of course that isn't easy to check on the Renegade, no Dipstick. If it's only occuring rarely, I wouldn't worry too much about it, but if you're experiencing it more than a few times a month, I'd check it. I thought these are sealed transmissions. If the level is low, does it indicate a fluid leak? I haven’t noticed anything leaking. I’m almost to 70k miles. I’ve been wondering when I need to change the fluid. Do you happen to know when it needs changed?
So according to Mopar, you should take it to the dealer to check the fluid level Yeah, No I'm not doing that. It is supposed last the life of the vehicle, But it has a dipstick hole so the dealer can check it. It shouldn't leak, It shouldn't ever run low, but if it starts slipping, I'm gonna check it. I think the main reason they don't want people checking it is they don't want them putting the wrong fluid in it, or overfilling it, both of which can cause a lot of damage.
I just noticed my transmission temp is running to the right of center. It’s at 160 degrees Fahrenheit and my coolant is around 217 while idling in gear. It’s 81 degrees outside today. Is this normal transmission temp?

They’re shipping me a new part. Seems to be a great company to work with. I really wanted to get it installed over the weekend, but things happen.
I finally received the (replacement) new drivers side motor mount. Any recommendations on where to support the engine to replace the drivers side and rear mounts? On the passenger side I put a board under the oil pan and supported it. Hopefully I’ll have this done sometime this weekend and we’ll see if it finally fixes things.
Anybody know if I need to support the engine when I remove the rear mount. It looks like the driver and passenger side should keep it in place, but I want to make sure. It’ll be a bad day if the engine rolls back with my head under it.
It will stay in place, you might need to rock it a bit to get the bolts started when installing the new mount.
