Ok... so we have a big hill about 45 degree with rocks and mud on a trail I ride a lot..... I can make it up about 40 yards and when I slow down or hit a rock and have to stop, when I try to continue up the hill.... it will take off fine for about 2 seconds and then it feels like I have no throttle. I have the gas to the floor but it just hums around 3000 rpm. Anyone have a fix for this? or recommendations? I have tried different 4x4 options. mud/sand same thing. so I have to end up backing down the hill and hit it faster to keep the momentum. anyone think the pedal commander will fix this?

The system does this to avoid damage to the driveline, if it detects no wheel spin while you're still giving it gas, it will cut power to avoid slipping the clutches in the torque converter, transmission and PTU.

If you're in a Trailhawk, 'Rock' is the best setting for those type situations.

You can try and make forward progress by sawing the steering wheel side to side, or backing down just a little and trying a slightly different line, but really, the key is trying to maintain momentum, and backing down for a retry, as you've done previously is frequently the only option.

I don't know if any of the programmers will provide a work around for this, but they would also greatly increase the risk of damage if they did.

As @zuke said, there isn't really anything out there for that "known" issue.

The Renegade try's so hard to save itself, that it can leave you stranded at times.
A Throttle Response Controller may help get you the initial umph that you are looking for. But, mine lasted less than 2 years before failing. And for the price, it isn't worth it for me.

Have you tried manually selecting first gear?
