The Mt Withington and Apache Kid Wilderness area in central New Mexico are legitimately remote. Only other life I ran into were some pronghorns.
There's a guest ranch on the west side of the mountains other than that the town of Magdalena is about 25 miles away.

Let's just say I ran into a little trouble up there. I was trying to reach the summit of Mt. Withington, Google steered me wrong. It took me to an up and back road that terminated at a trailhead. But on the way up this happened.

To say the least I was a bit scared. I t would have been a long walk back. Here's the short version of the video.

I wish I would have taken a video of winching out but I was in full adrenaline mode and only thinking about what the hell I was gonna do if I was wrecked up there.

I incurred minor damage. Some scratches and a tiny dent on the quarter pannel. 20191025_150927.jpg
She's still standing though and ready for the next adventure. I didnt buy a toaster Jeep to show off the paint job.

Here's a little longer version of the video.

WOW, glad everything worked out for you. The Renegades don't get the credit they truly deserve, for their size they can do an awful lot that others could never do. How long did it take to winch out?

Just about 5 ft. I was able to drive it the rest of the way out. Your right about the Renegade, it truly takes me where I want to go. I was on a pretty hairy road today up in the Jemez Mts. I was actually surprised on everything I was able to do. It was all torque getting me through.

After going to the carwash, the damage is a little worse than previously thought. Scratches go down to metal. Gonna have to get that fixed. Filed a claim. The lady I filed with was having very hard time understanding why someone would drive on a road that has big ruts in it.

After hearing your Renegade slide into the ditch I would have expected more damage than that.
