Firestone just came out with destination xts. Smallest in 17s are 235/80s. Think these will fit with eibach springs. I also have a avid 2in lift kit I'm about to install.
235/80R17 is a 32" tire... unless the Destination's are way undersized to the labeling (Which is possible) They're going to rub on the back of the front fender regardless of spacers or lift height
Not going to fit. 4" will get you 30, but will still require additional modifications. Pinch weld, fender liner, and spacers.
245/65R17 is safest bet. I went with the next size up 245/70R17 @ 30.6” and it has taken a good bit of further trimming beyond just performing pinch seam to prevent rubbing on the rear side of front tires as Zuke has mentioned. If I’m down there again with the tires off I’ll snap some pics of the hack job I did If you’re willing to put that effort in, the 245/70’s look pretty slick with 1.5” wheel spacers in my opinion! Mike
I'd really like to consider Firestone's new 245/70r17 x/t's and I am willing to put in the work for them, but I think my limiting component might be my OEM rock sliders. After the pinch seam mod, they're are the most protruding thing. Do you or Zuke have any pictures, or is there another thread that already covers?
I didn’t get the alert there were responses here, or it was buried in with others- I have to take a third run at it- I have rubbing on the front side now (I suspect) while in reverse. I think a video might be better to illustrate the pinch seam hack-job rear only hits at like full turn. Mind you, I haven’t had a chance to get this thing on the trails yet.. hopefully this weekend on our final camping trip of the year. Probably a lot more rubbing then!
I ended up getting 235/70r17s but still have to cut the ends of my sliders off or remove them altogether tomorrow. 30.5s would have definitely needed a lot more.
