Hey Ive got a 2015 launch edition renegade 1.4T and I'm really wanting to get a bull bar. I've not decided yet cause there really good options but today I decided to have a look at the mounting points for the majority of the bull bars out there. So I popped off those front covers on the bumper and the RHS no issue, saw the mounting point but the on the LHS as I popped off the cover there was some sort of electrical device looking right at me taking up all the space to mount anything through the opening. Is it like that for all the jeeps or is it a case of just removing it and remounting it to another point? It's had like a small mirror or reflection square on the device as well. Not 100% sure what it even is? Any advice would be great Thanks African Renegade
Ok so I found out that it's a radar sensor part of the collision warning system but how then would I install a Daystar or madness works bull bar? Or is that just not on the table if you have that radar sensor?
Daystar has 3 different bull bars for the Renegade. Check out this link, it might help you. Good luck. https://www.suspension.com/installation_instructions/daystarbullbar/renegadebullbar.pdf
I had a look but it's not exactly matching up with the same issue. I took some pics this Morning. Maybe it's just me but I don't think anything getting past that sensor... Here is the left and rights side after I removed the covers....
Yeah, bumpers are a problem with Renegades. The Avid bumper blocks off much of the air flow to the radiator, so I'm sure they wouldn't have even thought about the radar sensor location. The Daystar winch bumper looks like an over-size cow catcher, and you'd have the same mounting issues. I'd like a bull bar too, but I haven't found one that can be used for recovery, so I don't see the point of getting one. The Renegade aftermarket companies are really snoozing.
That's sums it up I guess... Time to get that 2inch lift and put on the black horse bull bar... Only option that's left I guess
