I'm glad you described exactly what the Avid lift kit comes with. At $200 I figured it was to good to be true. I believe the other manufacturers ie..... ATP, Teraflex, Daystar, and a view others all include some sort of subframe drop for a reason. Either to help in longevity of the factory parts...... Better flex and control while off roading........ To keep road manners like stock........all the above or for possible reasons not listed. But I personally would not run just spacers on an independent suspension vehicle (solid axle would be different) even if its only a few inches of lift. I believe it can and will cause premature ware on stock parts without using subframe drop. Thanks to you now I know not to order the Avid lift.

I have the Daystar 1.5" lift kit installed and I've been happy with it. However, I agree with OGJEEP about the Avid lift. A spacer lift can be that simple and inexpensive and still be good quality. Unless you are taking the Renegade to Baja to do jumps, the trans-axle angle probably won't be an issue. And again, only strut spacers in the front no matter who you go with. Keep in mind these engines are sub 200HP and the vehicles weight about 3,300-3,500lbs. There is not a lot of stress on the trans-axles to begin with. And if you can put in the lift yourself, you can replace the trans-axles yourself if it comes to that.
Let me know how it goes with putting the lift on and getting it aligned? Im wondering why all the other manufacturers include some way of dropping the subframe if it's not needed. Also I did not mention anything about the quality of the Avid lift, I just stated my opinion about wether or not it is a good idea about installing a lift only comprised of spacers. When i first went to the Avid website it was so new that there were no pictures of exactly whats included in the lift. And to be truthful the Jeep Renegade is such a new vehicle that who honestly knows how any of these lifts will affect longevity of any of the parts. Especially Avid who most recently started producing there products. If I have to pay an extra $100 for a lift and install a few more brackets and spacers to keep from having to replace stock parts every other year than so be it.
HELP HELP! Will someone please chime in on the benefits or differences between the Avid Essentials 1.5" lift kit that uses what I am told only spacers in the front and rear. Over the other lift kits by ATP, Daystar, and Teraflex which use some sort of subframe drop in the rear and spacers to lower a lot of other parts. There's almost $100 difference in price, less work, and better quality product with the Avid kit over the others. I wasn't sure about ordering it but OGJEEP got me thinking about it and I personally couldn't find any comparisons between the different lifts. But the quality of Avids lift does look to be more heavy duty.
From the pictures posted on Avids website it looks like the kit possibly has rear control arm drops, is that correct? And good luck with the install and may all your bolts break free easily and all your parts align properly! Lol!
I look for to seeing the install too! I have had the avid lift and was worried about not having additional spacers.

Someone said the Teraflex lift doesn't have rear strut spacers. It does along with the rear subframe spacer. The front strut spacer I llik a lot better than the Teraflex spacer.
What do you think would happen if the subframe spacer on the Teraflex lift is not installed? Wouldn't you need longer swaybar links in the rear like the front?
How did everthing go OGJEEP? I'm ready to pull the trigger and buy my lift. If you think it's the right decision I'm going to get the Avid lift. Based on quality alone I want to go with Avid. I'm just curious on how the setup, installation, ride quality, and how close a shop was able to align it afterwards. Oh yeah I installed 1.5" spacers on my renegade last night and it turned out incredible! The edge of the tires now line up with the end of the fender flares and fill up the wheel well much better.
Lift is on, looks great. He's trying new tires but I won't spoil it... I watched him install a rear corner.
