So i happened upon this photo and it seems to be a new skid plate in the works that mounts forward of the existing one. Thoughts? To me i wish it were wider. You can preorder at the website http://www.neneoverland.co.uk/shop/wild-jeep-renegade-skidplate
Still waiting for aftermarket under body plates. Can't locate mopar engine Skid. Also interested if I can mount them to my limited. This would be promising but it would block the daystar winch bar. Noticed ATP has a skidplates tab for renegade but no products yet. 2016 Renegade 4x4 Limited
Looks similar to the Rocky Road skid plate I have. Although it doesn't require a bull bar like mine does. I agree it would be nice if it were wider but then you'd need to get rid of the towhooks. Sent from my iPhone using ToasterJeep mobile app
You could modify it and cut a hole up tip and have it mounted inside the bumper like mopar did. This would require some extensive effort. For me i want a proper full width bumper. I just posted this for those who wanted a larger skid plate
Just get out your cutting torch and welder and make one!!! Sent from my SM-G950U using ToasterJeep mobile app
Yea i want it like that but as high as the other one. I want to gut the front bumper as well. More along the lines of how people do it with ram 1500s or grand cherokees.
My next project is to pull the bumper, make a new crossmember that will allow me to mount a winch inside. Just need the crazy weather season here in Oklahoma to finish up so I can just ride my Goldwing to and from work while the Renegade is torn apart. Sent from my SM-G950U using ToasterJeep mobile app
Haha we just got summer here in washington state. I'd love to do all that but i have never welded before although i know a guy.
We are getting to the end of tornado season here...2 or 3 more weeks. Summer is here, but the storms are hanging on a little longer than usual. Sent from my SM-G950U using ToasterJeep mobile app
Question about this. Do you need to take this off for oil change?! Sent from my SM-G930V using ToasterJeep mobile app
I've only had one oil cjamge so far and it seemed impossible tp get the filter out without taking off the skid plate off. However i think since it also mounts up top somewhere (hopefully) that you wouldnt have to.
Yeah you do, but it's quite easy to take off. Takes less than 5 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using ToasterJeep mobile app
Lol yeah I'd estimate a little under ten minutes to put it back on, I just put a blanket under the car and lay it on that! I agree it's super heavy, an extra set of hands is always nice! Sent from my iPhone using ToasterJeep mobile app
