When I took possession of my 1.4l, the average MPG said 32.2, which was the ~120 mile trip from the other dealership to mine. Whoever drove that over was a master of fuel economy, or else fast highway miles can be very fuel efficient (I don't live near a freeway, hahah). I've managed about 30.1 on the highway here which has some reasonably solid hills, but in town driving has lowered me to about 26.8 overall (this is with a tank mostly full of regular 87 gas, as when I went to fill up - done by someone else in OR, mind - the attendant was so smitten with the color of my Colorado Red Renegade that he didn't hear me ask for premium), still fairly solid. I've watched the real-time MPG estimate obsessively for a couple days, felt like I got a reasonable handle on it, and then switched away from that screen so I don't go crazy.

Yes, with all the information available to the driver in modern vehicles you can end up getting sucked into watching numbers instead of just enjoying your Jeep.

I have the larger 2.4 L engine in my Trailhawk around town I averaged about 17 1/2 miles per gallon, and on the highway I'm getting 24 to 26 miles per gallon by the way scientifically saying there is not a big difference to miles per gallon or the efficiency between premium and regular gas so why pay more and not get more?

I think it's just the turbo needing 91. Like my mini and any BMW. Idk other turbos but the compression is set for it

I average 28mpg with the Turbobrick. In just highway cruising I can manage 33 to 35. I have 12k miles on it. I also run 93 since the only one station near me carrys 91 and it is full service and extra expensive.

I'm doing pure start/stop up and down hills in town with an average speed of ~40 MPH. My MPG is reflective of all the accelerating from stops that I'm doing, plus engine warm-up two to four times a day.

So I drove with traffic, at or 5 miles above speed limit as Vegas traffic goes... Drove all the way across town in peak traffic and literally went across the valley three times today in my Trailhawk... 22mpg. I wasn't babying it, just flowing with traffic. I'm a fairly aggressive driver and with these Jeeps great millage is attainable with just a little adaptation. The tranny works hard to give good milage, don't fight it... for me, lesson learned, chill.

Thank you all for the good info. I'll reset it and try driving responsibly and see what happens.
