I have had my 2015 TH since last October and have had no problems. Last week, I took it in for an oil change and was told I had multiple updates to install. GREAT! Since then though, I've noticed and issue when locking the jeep. If I am with a passenger, I exit the car and press the lock button on the door handle. I close the driver door and my jeep honks once. Then my passenger is exiting and he closes his door second. The jeep honks again and then my alarm goes off for 1 second -LOUD. It's embarrassing hell and this is definitely new. In the past, the jeep would just beep with each door that was closed, signaling that the jeep was locked on each door but now this alarm going off is becoming annoying. Has anyone else experienced this? I dread having to take it back in to the dealership but I'm thinking I may have no choice if I can't fix it on my own.
I got my Renegade in June and it has always done what you are describing. I just wait until all the doors get closed and then use the lock button on the outside of the handle.
That's kind of lame. I know it started with the last update and this is not how it supposed to be. Looks like I'm going to have to take it in to have the dealership look at it.
Make sure you check the options on your uconnect first. There's different ones for changing the horn, locks etc
I just bought a "new" 2016 TH and am experiencing the same thing! It only happens when I lock the doors using the inside electric switch. The dealer tried passing it off as a "security feature", but referred me to the service dept when I insisted that we try it in other vehicles and could not repeat the error. Service tells me that this is a known issue, but they flashed by BCM and it did not help. So they can't do anything else. Very annoying and unacceptable for a new vehicle.... Hi Everyone, There is a TSB that was recently released (yesterday!) that should solve the horn honking after locking concern described on this thread: "NUMBER: 08-031-17 GROUP: Electrical DATE: May 02, 2017 SUBJECT: Flash: BCM Diagnostic And System Improvements SYMPTOM/CONDITION: Customers may experience one or more of the following conditions listed below: • **The horn will sound when locking the door using the door panel switch while the door is open.** • Power driver’s seat will not move and active Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1062-11 - Electric Seat Movimentation-Circuit Short To Ground, will be set (2015 - 2016 Only). • If a vehicle has been started using the remote start and the door panel lock switch is pushed before the ignition has been turned on, the vehicle shuts off (2015 - 2016 Only). • When ParkSense is turned off, the LED on the switch will turn on indicating the system is disabled. On the next key cycle the system is still disabled, but the LED on the switch will not turn on (2015 - 2016 Only). • Rear interior overhead lamps remain illuminated after exiting vehicle and locking from the driver's or passenger's door lock buttons. This is causing the vehicle battery to go dead (2015 - 2016 Only). • The door locks are inoperative when locking/unlocking remotely (2015 - 2016 Only). • False activation of the vehicle security alarm (2015 - 2016 Only). • False exterior light failure messages being displayed in the instrument cluster (2015 - 2016 Only)."
