Has anyone had any issues with the 2016 Trailhawk? It isles fine in park and neutral, but vibrates pretty bad when stopped in drive or reverse.

I switched out plugs and air filter, before I realized it didn’t do it in neutral and park. I thought it was a miss. I seems worse after installing the daystar winch mount and winch. That could be my imagination though. I’m wondering if something could be hitting now that the extra weight is on the front. I’ve also got the 2” avid lift with slightly larger tires. I don’t see anything obvious.

Does anyone know when the redesigned engine mounts came out? My Trailhawk is a 2016.

I thought that might be the issue. I wonder how big of a job that will be. Does the entire engine need to be removed or can you do them one at a time?

The passenger side mount looks ok, from what I can see. I haven’t pulled the air filter box yet. What year were the engine mounts redesigned. My build date was July 2016.

Where has everyone supported the engine while swapping the mounts? Is there any certain spot to put a jack under (obviously not the oil pan )

    Yep, motor mounts.

You could use a floor jack and run a piece of board under the engine oil pan and transmission to take the weight off of the engine to replace the mounts.
... just don't try to lift the Renegade by the oil pan. lol

Is there a way to tell if they’re bad before removing them? I can only see a small portion of it. It looks ok. When I put my finger back under the metal i feel puffed of rubber. I’m assuming it should all be flat under there.

If you have two people available, have one sit in the Renegade and put it in reverse (Foot Stays on the brake the whole time!) while the other watches under the hood to see if the motor moves, It should move slightly, but if the mounts are bad it will move noticeably. If you only have yourself available, setup a camera and video it, if you do that, you'll also be able to upload the video here to get opinions.

Here's a video from MotorWeek that describes several ways to check them'

Good idea recording it. You probably can’t hear me yell when I switch between gears. The engine is definitely moving.

I’m seeing four different motor mounts for the 2016 Trailhawk. Anybody happen to know which ones are the correct ones? It looks like the tag on my passenger one says 68323461AA on it.

    Ouch! That's a pricey sucker..

    68363755AA

Replaces it with a later revision...

I use to shop moparpartsgiant, but I switched to Parts Maven, They seem to usually be a couple bucks cheaper, and ship faster..

I just realized you're asking "Which" mount needs replaced, because there are several.... The passenger side one that we have been talking about and linking is the one that's known for going bad, and it's the one you should replace first, I doubt there is anything wrong with the others...

I’ve done all the work on my Jeep up until now. I’m a bit concerned about supporting the engine. I’m mostly worried about getting the mount out and the engine shifting or denting the oil pan. I called a shop. They said if it’s just the passenger mount, it would be around $300 for parts and labor. They charge $75 an hour. I’ve found the part online for about $145. They must be estimating around 2 hours of work. I‘m going to have them replace passenger side boot too. It pulled out of the clamp when I installed the avid lift. Luckily it didn’t tear, so they said they could probably just put a new clamp on it.

For $300, If it's a trustworthy and decent shop, I'd probably let them do it too...

The shop said all the motor mounts look good. They didn’t charge me for looking at them. ‍♂️ I guess that’s good news, but what’s causing the vibrations.

I noticed the front skid plate is loose on the front today. Maybe that’s causing vibrations.

I'd be surprised at the skid plate causing enough of a vibration to be noticeable, a vibrating sound maybe , but you're saying you 'Feel' a vibration, right?

Can you localize it? Where do you feel the vibration? (Seat, Steering wheel) any visible signs, like a shake in the rear view mirrors?

Did you tighten up the skid plate? Any difference?

I haven’t tightened the skid plate yet. The front drivers side bolt hole is striped out. I’ll have to retap it.

I can feel the vibration in the wheel and seat. I can somewhat see it in the mirrors and things also rattle in my glove box.
