I read somewhere (facebook maybe) that someone turned off hill start/stop assist and increased mpg's . I don't know if that truly works but I would like to experiment. My Rene is a 2.4 liter 2018 Trail Hawk. To that end I find no reference in the manual that indicates that it can be disabled. Does anyone know if it can be disabled? Is so, how? TIA
On my 2017, it's in the vehicle setting... With the vehicle in park start the vehicle, use the down arrow on the left of the steering wheel to scroll down through the menus in the instrument cluster until you get to 'Vehicle Settings' then hit OK, scroll down (Arrow key again) Until you find Hill Start Assist and hit OK, Change the setting to what you want then hit left arrow to get back out...
Wow Zuke, I looked in the manual and googled till I was blue and didn't find that information. Thanks, I appreciate it.
I spend a lot of time sitting in traffic, working in the D.C. area gives me plenty of time to play with the menus
Hey Charlie, I'm curious, Did you actually look and see Hill Assist where I said? Cause I went back and looked at mine, and it isn't there anymore! I hadn't looked at it in a while, and I've had several OTA updates, so I'm thinking they might have removed it from the menus..
Not too worried about it, I never played with it anyway, Just wondering if I had a software update that moved or removed it...
It's there for me and worked. I got almost 3 mpg more with HSA off. Took a road trip from Tucson to Phoenix round trip yesterday. On the way I had HSA on, I got an average of 23.4 mpg, On the way back with HSA off I got 25.6 mpg. To be fair we had a head wind going to Phoenix but I am going to continue this experiment. Now I am trying to figure out what would change in the engines programming to allow this much increase in MPG.
More time in traffic today, so I went on the hunt... Not sure why but now I have to go into the security sub menu, and it's in there...
