Hi everyone. New to the forum and first time poster.
Does the standard front passenger seat fold forward on the 2016 Latitude model?

Getting ready to buy a used Renegade and have narrowed the choice down to 2. Both 2016 Jetset Blue (I really like this color) with less than 30k miles. One is a Sport with a decent number of options and the other is a Latitude with more options. The Latitude with more features and a ~4K fewer miles for $1000 more than the Sport is the better value proposition but I really need the front passenger seat to fold forward so I can fit my stand-up bass inside.

    Thanks for your replies.

The front passenger seat folds forward on my 2015 Latitude so I would imagine the 2016 would be the same. It does not fold completely flat but looks like this.

Thank you. Just what I needed to see. That’s pretty much the same as the Sport that I test drove and will satisfy my needs.

I do find it interesting that they make a point of mentioning the fold forward feature on the sticker of the Sport model but not the Latitude.

I think maybe they didn't have enough features to list on the sport so they started listing obvious things like that. Although, the Sport seats (and the seat in that picture) are manual so maybe the powered seats don't have as much range? So check if the seats are powered or not.

if you insert a key or other hard object in the base/side of the headrest you can easily lift it out, scoot it forward and recline the seat near flat. my two cents ;) can post a picture of this if needed

I remove the headrest often for my son to see forward while driving

Definitely, if you remove the headrest and slide the seat forward it makes a world of difference as to how the folded angle changes. I would have done that when I took the photo but it was just starting to rain.

@Dgr401 you’re right! didn’t recline as I had expected! however, @Raggedman here is what I would do:

    Thanks guys. Good info there.
Picked up a 2016 Latitude last night. After taking a tape measure to the interior the “fold forward” thing shouldn’t be an issue either way because the upper bout of my bass won’t go all the way to the front seat backs and the neck will only extend to about the front of the center arm rest. I should be able to just put the driver side of the back seat down and be good to go.

The idea to remove the headrest and recline to nearly flat sounds like a good idea. I’m doing a 24 hour race next April and if I can sleep in the Rene without curling up in a ball it would save the effort of having to set up a tent for when I take breaks.

Congratulaions on your Renegade, good luck with it. What is the 24 hour race? There are some write-ups about sleeping in a Renegade that might help you.

Not so much a race as it is an event. A 4 mile dirt road loop where you see how many miles you can run or walk between 7 am Saturday and 7 am Sunday. You can step off the route any time you want to rest, eat, or sleep and rejoin when you want. So it’s really not ideal to rest with your legs bent. ;)

My club requires you to do at least a marathon distance in that time to be on the club team but I’m thinking I’ll shoot for 75-80 miles.

I didn’t grab a shot of it fully reclined as it didn’t go past say, like 60 degrees. certainly not like the other cars I’ve ever had. hope it all works out for you! I think it’s awesome you play a stand-up too! love it
