Hello all, man does anyone know where I can find this tire carrier ?

Kind of looks like a Wilco offroad. but if you notice, it does not go into the receiver hitch.

Looks like a custom job. They trimmed out a lot of the rear bumper. There should be a grill or a hook on each side next to the marker lights. Those are all gone. Here is a factory bumper for comparison.

it almost looks like the swing arm that is on the Avid tire carrier rear bumper, just without the bumper.
That is rather intriguing and I would also be interested in that

Here are some old pictures I saved of the AVID RADIUS Expedition Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier
    upload_2018-11-14_14-36-19.png

The Avid tire carrier is centered and has a silver latch on the drivers side. It also conforms to the bumper and the vertical attachment point for the tire is much thicker.
Also, it looks like it can be ordered now!!

ya, that's been available for a couple weeks now, I just dont have $1,000+ for a bumper. I wish I did though, or that they would take payments, would totally get it and the matching front bumper if they did payments.

Yep I do like that rear Avid bumper too. Just not ready to let go of a grand or take out my factory bumper w/ built in factory hitch.

exactly. having to remove the factory hitch is kind of a deal breaker for me. Pay extra at the dealership for a hitch and have to throw it away for a different hitch. If they had a system that was just the tire carrier swing arm attached to the tow hook mounts then I'd be all over that.

Nathaniel, what do you thing of the Wilco Hitch tire Carrier ? Just to me It seems to stick out too far. And it's almost as expensive as the Avid.

I have mixed feelings about the carriers that attach to the tow hitch. Like you pointed out, that one sticks out quite a bit and I don't think I've seen any kind of hitch mounted carrier that didn't tip back and forth all the time because they never sit quite right. I'm hoping someone comes up with a tow hook mounted swing arm that keeps the original tow hitch. It should be possible to modify the AVID swing arm to do that but you'd have to be able to get one first, minus the bumper, and I'm pretty sure they probably wouldn't do that.

I'm waiting to see how Avid sets up the license plate and rear camera relocations. My Trailhawk doesn't have a hitch receiver and I need one.

Curt has a bolt on one, but it's slung under the rear bumper taking up ground clearance, although install is simple as removing 6 bolts, holding the unit in place and reinstalling the bolts. If I have to go through all the trouble to install the factory tow kit, I may as well do the Avid replacement bumper.

Nathaniel, if you pull your stock parts off to put the Avid unit on, be gentle. I'm sure someone would buy the parts to install on theirs. I've been selling parts leftover from my last vehicle on Craigslist and eBay. The money from that has gone towards new stuff for my Renegade and I do the same with my other hobbies.

ya, I would have done that with my stock trailhawk springs but the damn shop I got the new ones put on at threw them directly into the trash truck as it drove past before I could say anything. It's going to be quite a while before I can afford an Avid bumper though and I would want to do both front and rear at the same time too, that, and with the ones I want it would be at least 2K with shipping, ya, gonna be a while

I'd have been heated if a shop just tossed stuff like that. I understand the wait game though.

The rear bumper is on my wish list. I'm undecided on the front. DayStar has a winch mount brush guard (they say bumper, but it doesn't replace the stock one) that I can put an 8-9000 pound winch on. I don't think the Avid front winch Bumper has room for one that big.

I just got my Renegade last month. Come spring I will be getting a roof rack and basket. I'll probably put some lights and get a radio (amateur 2m rig) installed as well. The more expensive stuff will have to wait. Fixed income and all.

So far my list in priority to needs is 1. Rack/Basket 2. Radio/antenna mount 3. Seat covers 4. Lift/Springs - looking at Avids budget 1.5" and Eiback springs 5. BFG KO2 tires and a spare rim that matches the other four. 6. Bumpers and winch. This Jeep replaced my truck and RZR, so I need to get it to where I can run my atv trails in the hunting area. I could have run my old truck on them, but it needed more work than I wanted to do to an 11 year old rig with 99k miles.

I have the Wilco carrier currently on my WK.

When I pick up the Renegade I’m going to mount it to see how it looks, I’ll try and remember to post a pic of the outcome here.

If installed properly the Wilco doesn’t move, wobble, make noise or anything.

If someone says it does, they aren’t installing it properly.

What size wheels, tires and spacers are you using? Any issues? Also, who makes the lift? Thanks,

    shane

Those pics look like the ones on the Avid website, so I'd guess it was an Avid Lift in the pics. The other questions, got me....
