Hi all, just wanted to post about my trip to Colorado last week and my offroad adventures.
So I took the trailhawk on a 2400 mi. round trip to Frisco/Breckenridge Co. from Houston Tx. It Started on a Saturday morning leaving Houston and driving to Marble Falls Texas. I wanted to try out the Rene on Hidden Falls Adventure Park. I've been there before with my old XJ but not in the Renegade. First off I liked to talk about the only mods I have which are an ATP 2" spacer lift and and the BFG KO2's 225 65 17. Didn't really notice any difference on road with the lift but the tires I did notice a difference (on road). It seem to have lost some of it's around town nimbleness and the steering feels heavier at highway speeds with these tires. At first I wasn't too happy about that but then I got it offroad! These tires are awesome offroad! What you gain in offroad ability is definitely worth IMG_20180818_151417.jpg IMG_20180818_151634.jpg IMG_20180818_151619.jpg IMG_20180818_152059.jpg IMG_20180818_151417.jpg IMG_20180818_151634.jpg IMG_20180818_151619.jpg IMG_20180818_152059.jpg the trade off on what you loose on road. I other words not much lose on road but big gains offroad. Here are some pics. at Hidden Falls. IMG_20180818_151417.jpg Tried this Hill but didn't want to push it. Had a long trip ahead. Might have made it taking a line to the far right, but the left side, no way. Well enough of this, on to Colorado. So a couple of days later was in Colorado up around Boreas Pass. Went up Boreas Pass and up Mt. Baldy rd. which turns into Mt. Baldy trail in order to to go the top of Mt. Baldy. Took a while to get to the top but you got to be patient and go slow. There were some side trails that I probably shouldn't have taken with out some back up. (ie a good JK partner). One side trail was suppose to be a short cut but never paned out. It was pretty challenging on the way down I'd say a 3 to 4 trail. I told myself I sure hope this works out to a better trail because wasn't planning on going back this way. But it didn't and the trail just got worse and worse. I don't know the name of the trail but I got to the bottom and it was impossible to go any further without serious Carnage/damage to the Rene. The rest of the trail consisted of nothing more than 2 to 3 foot boulders. Sorry no secret button that gave me instant 37' tires, and I'm not that brave, especially so far from home. So I had no choice but to turn around and go back the way I came. That day the Renegade made a believer out of me. I mean I new it could do some mild offroading, but I honestly didn't think I was going to get back out. Just put it Rock Mode and went reaaaaallll slow. Unfortunately did not take any photos of that trail. Was too worried about making it out in one piece.

The next day did some more trails over by Gold Run Rd. and French Gulch. Also interesting. All in all had a great time. The one thing I like about Colorado, besides being cool and Beautiful, is that there are virtually thousands of trails and you don't have to pay someone to go one them. Unless your maybe Camping. Will try to post some more Colorado pics. But for some reason or another they are not coming out on my PC.

Hope this post is not too long and or boring. Thanks . IMG_20180818_151634.jpg
